Forward motion

Forward motion is a rule that casinos have that states that any type of forward movement of a player's chips toward the pot is an act of commitment. If another player or a floorperson (or dealer) calls forward motion, the person moving his chips will have to put those chips into the pot and hope for the best. If he or she refuses, they will be removed from the table and probably the casino as well.
