If you believe that you suck at poker but you just don’t know what to do about it then you are not alone. So many people are in the same situation as you are right now, but there are things that you can do to try and turn your position around so you can become a better player overall.

You Play Far too Many Hands

The main reason why so many people suck when it comes to poker is that they find that they play far too many hands. Poker comes with a lot of basic math, and statistics show that the player who starts with the best hand will win more often when compared to some of the other players in the pot. This is all about long-term average at the end of the day but it does make a lot of sense. If you enter the pot with a better hand when compared to your opponents then this will mean that you win more often overall. In one way or another most poker players like to be action junkies. They want to be competing and the action is just as fun when you compare it to the act of winning. If you do want to win then you have to learn how to play fewer hands. If you want to help yourself then you should know that it is more than possible for you to play online poker with real money so you can perfect your strategy.

Which Hands Should You Be Playing?

It all starts with you knowing how many hands you are playing right now. The only way for you to do this would be for you to track the way that you play. You have to know how many hands you play and you also need to know how they break down at the table. You can play hands more profitably when you look at the late position when compared to the middle and the early position. It is very dangerous for you to assign a percentage of hands that you should be playing on a game-by-game basis.

You’re Against Players who are Better than You

If you were playing against someone who only learnt the rules of poker yesterday then do you truly believe that you would win or lose against a series of matches? Now, think about all of the poker players that you do know, do you feel as though if you played a series of heads-up games against those people, that you would win? Probably not. If you want to win poker more then you have to make sure that you do not ignore the level of competition you have. You also need to make sure that you do not sit down at the table just because there is a seat available. If you try and be more selective about the games that you play then you will soon find that you can come out on top more overall.
