It’s that time of year when the live scene relocates to the Emerald Isle for the prestigious Irish Poker Open. With 40 events scheduled, the series is promising to live up to its name as one of the most eagerly awaited events on the live poker calendar.
Players from all over the world have made their way to the fancy Royal Dublin Society, located in the centre of the city.
It’s no surprise that the Irish Poker Open is as well-supported as it is after running for 42 years. Only Las Vegas events can display a longer record.
The action is already well underway after kicking off on April 3 with the final Day 1 starting flight for the €1,150 Main Event running today, April 7. With a €1,000,000 guarantee, we expect attendance to be close to a possible record.
Events are priced between €150 to €5,000, giving all players the chance to find a tournament that suits them.
Recreational players who enjoy rubbing shoulders with the stars of the game will find last year’s Main Event champion in the playing hall, possibly carrying his “lucky chair” lest anyone try to switch it from him.
