hello.
my names ben, I'm from Blackpool in the uk, I've been playing Texas hold em for years on and off for fun. never really been a "winning" player so i decided to try and improve my game by reading poker books and watching videos which brought me here, since joining your site watching the videos and reading the strategy articles i can honestly say my game has definitely improved, I've started to run deeper in MTT's and win/break even on the tables, i still have a few leeks which I'm obviously looking to improve on,

Welcome Ben!

Do you ever play live games in Blackpool? I have been a couple of times before and when the GUKPT is running at the G it has to be said the games are incredible and it seems you guys have a thriving poker community down there.

to be honest Jon i don't really.
i have played a couple of times but because of work/home commitments i rarely have the time to play, plus i don't have any friends who play so theres not much to tempt me to go. i have heard the games are decent though, theres a couple of casinos with a fairly busy schedules, maybe ill check em out.

Hey guys,

Quick intro...My name is Daniel and Im a college student from NJ. I play on WSOP in NJ as TRVPLORD. i mostly play 10NL with the occasional 20NL and 50NL. I also play in home games that I can find around NJ and some in NYC....usually play 1/2.

Since I've been playing for five years now, id consider myself to be pretty experienced. However I am playing in hopes to make a living in the future so I am looking to improve my game a lot and patch up a few leaks.

I look forward to learning a lot and stacking everyone Wink

Hello everyone.

Just signed to PokerVIP after a friend gave me the site details. My background is mainly live poker. From which I supplement my salary which is always nice. Although I am a recreational player, I do quite well travelling around playing small stakes cash (0.50/1 & 1/2).

I have dabbled slightly on-line so I'm not a complete novice to it,but I'm making more of a transition to On-line of late. Two reasons being - the action locally is drying up and also the ease of playing at home.

Looking forward to joining in the forum and hopefully making the transition a successful one.

Hopefully Speak soon.

Greetings all... Jass here, checking in to what seems to be a truly awesome and supportive community. I am from Denmark, but am currently residing at the Faroes. My poker experience is rather short, but I decided to give poker a real shot this autumn and have spent the last 4 months studying a lot to improve my game. My favourite formats are HU hypers and zoom 6 max cash games. I play at Stars and the I poker network. I am in the process of setting up my goals for poker 2015 and intend to blog about it here too. Hope you all had a merry xmas, looking forward to meet you all....

cheers

Hi, my name is Gerard. I'm from the Isle of Man.

I have been playing online, mostly Pokerstars, for about 5 years now. I keep on playing and learning, then drifting away. When I come back I always find I need to start small again. At my best I was playing 200NL but probably moved up too soon and after losing £1000 in a day I withdrew my bankroll and went and bought a new bike instead!

I'm looking to start from the beginning again, taking my time to move up the stakes, learning and meeting other players along the way.

@Makita - Brazil sounds beautiful, would love to see some pictures if you have any, you could post them in this thread. That is sad about the corruption your country is suffering, seems all countries are corrupt in one way or another these days! Sad

Hi everyone. My names Darren, just saying hi. I've been playing poker for about 2 years now as a hobby. Ive mainly been playing small stake tournaments and sit and go's but recently decided to see how I get on with microstake cash. These days you will mainly find me on Stan James playing small stakes. Looking to turn my game from break even/ slightly losing to something more profitable, starting with multitabling cash and then (hopefully) moving up levels. I live in the UK around the Cambridge area

Hey there, welcome! Smile

I started off the same as you playing micro stakes MTTs/SnGs and just this last year have been trying cash. You are seriously in the right place, I have learnt so much here in this last year!

Best advice I can give is to post hands in the Poker Strategy Forum for analysis and also to create a journey in the My Poker Journey section. Great ways to learn fast and improve!

Good luck to you! Sun

Harvie it's nice to be the first one, I hope to see more people from Argentina in the future.
the poker scene its good and is growing up every year, there are a lot of people that plays casually and there are a tons of pro playing low stakes and midstakes.
talking about live games, I don't have to much time to go to the casino, the nearest casino of my home is situated like 50km away from home. Also we have a really good circuit of poker here => http://www.capoker.com.ar/ where every year a lot of new interesting players appears
I've never played there, because I'm not a really good mtt player and the buyins are quite expensive Crying

Makita: Hey Harvie I dont think so.

Makita yes! we're brothers and neighbors!! Cool0

Thanks for the welcome guys and sorry for my english Angel !, hope to be an active forum user! Nerdy

Awesome rx12. Can I ask what the average salary is in Argentina and what the lowest stakes would be to make a good living over there. It's a place I always wanted to visit, I heard the girls are the hottest in the world? Care to comment haha.

Harvie, I think that the average salary to make a good living is between 1k and 1,5k... but it depends on in which part of the country you live... hahah yes, I think we have the hottest, but no the craziest (??) if you know what I mean PartyCheeky

Hey rx12 it's nice to have you here.
When you say 1k - 1,5k you're saying pesos or dollars?
You live in Buenos Aires?
I think the girls there are much hotter than here. But I can say that we have some crazy Wink (not so crazy as european girls)

My english is the worst here Sad
