Hey Guys. Just a quick one to introduce myself to the community.

Names Steve from Leeds in UK. I'm 31, and am playing NLH and PLO cash primarily. Odd MTT's thrown in especially sunday's.

Grinded pretty hard a couple of years ago now, when I worked for myself - Cash games $15/$30. Had to get a proper job and withdrew funds when children came along! So playing mainly as hobby around work but trying to up my hours to a decent amount in near future.
Play all over but currently on IPoker as its far softer than Stars and the likes. Been playing around 7 years total.

Looking to learn and get involved in forum community.

Welcome to the forum. anything you need feel free to contact me . Post as many hands you like or even videos of yourself playing in our My Poker Journey thread.

Welcome mate, good luck with the grind...

Hey guys!

I'm 26 from the UK, I have been playing poker for around 6 years and fulltime for around 3 years. I started off playing exclusively cash (6max), moving to MTTSNGs at the start of 2012 and then onto MTTs.
I've had a couple of deep runs but not sealed the big one yet, the more notable score was final tabling the Sunday million, busting 7th (bleuggg).
I have been away for a couple of months on a summer break with the girlfriend so excited to get back to the grind.
I'm currently playing 100nl with a little 200nl and will be adding MTTs up to 109s on most networks.
I have also taken on a couple of friends in a coaching/backing deal in MTTSNGs who have never played a hand of poker before (lol) which has been quite fun coaching! Will try and get them on here to share the progress.

See you in the forums glgl

Stakes? Low stakes MTTs
How long you been playing? Been playing about 10 years
Where do you live? Newcastle
Whats your dogs name? Alleric to anything hairy!!
Do you like fish sticks? Ughhhhh

I'm originally from a little market town called Darlington (apparently where the train was invented!), lived there for 27 years of my life. When I got seriously into poker I found myself taking the 45min journey up the A1 everynight to Newcastle to play. In the end got sick of the commute so have now settled in Newcastle. Newcastle's poker scene is the best, I've met so many life long friends along the way and hopefully will meet many more in the future. Anyway I think that's enough about me for now. Today I'm starting a micro MTT grind and will be posting my Hi's, Lows and everything that goes with it in 'My Journey' so if anyone fancys following my journey along the way take a peek. See you at the tables!! Smile

Dunno if this is a new thread or a reply to someone elses thread, but here we go.
I'm not a big fan of telling people my poker screen name, or getting my SN connected to my real name by any means. It's as if you give them direct bank access to your bank account and financial status, and money is one of those things that make people act differently towards you.

The reason why I'm here is because I'm a big fan of Paul Otto as a poker mind, and I appreciate the way he compares pros and cons of calling/raising/folding with regard to future streets etc in any hand at respectable stakes. I've seen his vids on youtube and that's why I got here. I am a member on bluefire and husng poker and I have to say that the quality of his videos is at least equal to theirs. There are a lot of guys who don't go into much detail. For every decision I make on any street, I want to have at least 3 reasons. Telling myself those reasons helps me to recognize tilt also

That said, I was surprised to see the low level content of the "hard poker test" on this website because even a retard can ace it. I don't not if this is more of a social network site targeting beginners, or a site with professional poker players trying to take it to the next level.

I consider myself a semi professional poker player. I work in Asia and play online poker on the side. In the past, I struggled with variance and bankroll management. I'm a skilled player but I tilt regularly and don't respect my bankroll as I should. I've grinded husngs for 2 years and played them profitably, but I lose focus on EV when I'm in a downswing and tend to chase losses on higher stakes when I tilt. I know the mathematical consequences of this, but I no longer think logically when tilt creeps in. I guess I should just quit and reset my mind after 5 husngs anyway, regardless of the outcome.

I just want to pick up stuff from Paul Otto here because I think he's an awesome video maker. I chose the SN lostthinker because I often get lost in my thinking process at the tables. I'll post a very typical and very common example in the hand section

Name? Chris
Age? 26
Format? Mainly 6-max cash just now
Stakes? Miiiiiiiiiicro
How long you been playing? on and off for around 8 years
Where do you live? Edinburgh
Whats your dogs name? My girlfriend doesn't want me sharing her details (sic. I'm single just now:( )
Do you like fish sticks? In terms of bad poker players, yes. Breaded process fish, no.

I've been on and off the scene for a few years, never really got anywhere with my poker. I have a fairly mundane office job at the minute, I want to progress that, among other things. I would like to enjoy poker again, move up the stakes and supplement my income, or at least have a few jollys to tournaments etc! Probably more likely to be able to buy a couple pints with my winnings!

Hi everyone, just a quick post to introduce myself.

Found this site after being told about it at a live event I played in a few weeks ago and it looks like advice well taken on my part. Poker plays a massive part of my everyday life, and generally I'm able to put in a lot of hours per day wether it be playing cash or reading articles/strategy etc. Playing currently on 888 as i find it particularly soft ( no brag btw ). Just signed up to a few other sites via PokerVip. In general I do pretty well from poker and it supplements my income although I'll admit I have no BRM, Have been Quite happy to take stabs at high stakes with entire rollz and lose everything. This is where I need work, I'm hoping having a site to come and diScuss things and get advice and learn, that i can work on these parts of my game and improve tenfold.

Goals - Build a decent roll on one of the sites I've signed up to. Grind through the stakes hopefully culminating in playing decent levels next year.
- Improve strategy wise and read articles daily
- Earn enough to get some rewards / treats (sound like a kid)

Long enough post now so will see some of you at the tables hopefully.

Really started to learn the game though Gripsed on YouTube but since I returned from USA in August have been refining my game with he help of another Gripster and the help of PVIP. I've won a micro stakes tournie, come 2nd in a bigger one and pushed my roll up from $300-$2100 in just a couple of months moving up from 10nl-50nl. I feel comfortable where I am atm and am hoping to get to 100nl by my 20th birthday in March and FT a few more small stakes tournies to get that roll moving in the right direction.
I'm also starting to coach players at 10nl-30nl 6max so hit me up for any help, I'm free atm but once I have more experience and see results in students I'll probably start charging so get me while ya can Wink
