Hi i am André, i am 28 years and i am from Portugal..... i am in the starting of my Poker career, all started in 2013, in July reading a magazine that tell the story of a man, the same age that i was back then, leaving all behind and going to Vegas, and became a Poker Pro, later that day, call it Fate or anything i was making zapping in my TV and stopped in a Poker Game.... i watched closely and notice that the rules and mechanics was different from what i knew in that time.... after the program ended I've searched in google, and noticed that was a Cash Game (by the way the program that i watched was Poker After Dark)... then the logical step for me was to know more about Poker and Cash Games, so i end up registering Pokerstars and Portuguese School connected to it....

Then all 2014 i was making plans and gathering the resources needed to feel comfortably in the tables, I've tried different kinds of Poker Games, like SNG, MTT, but where i feel more comfortable was in a Cash table... so i study only Cash games, and i've started my plan this year 2015... but i think i started with left foot, because i feel i need something more and my results was not so great as i expected but i am not giving up.... i am here to WORK HARD, LEARN A LOT and PLAY EVEN HARDER.... so i end up watching the Pokervip channel on twitch and end up here....

I hope you guys could help and you can count with my help in the things i know, (yes, i am a fish, i know, but with a Huge will of learning and improving)

I joined a few months ago being a novice in the game and can safely say you have found the best place for starting out and developing your game.

I have learnt so much and everyone is really friendly so my best advice is to not be shy putting hands in the strategy forum.

With regard to books etc have you checked out the coaching vids in the school section? Personally I have found seeing the plays and thought process in action of far more benefit than sitting with a book. Plus you can focus on the stakes you play for and what to expect from opponents at your tables.

Well in terms of books, some classics include: Harrington on Holdem, Super system by Doyle Brunson, Every Hand revealed by Gus Hansen.

BUT...It's generally agreed that in the modern era of ONLINE poker, these books should only be used as a starting point to teach you the basic principles of poker.

I would recommend starting with some of these videos:

1) Introduction to online poker
2) Introduction to 6-Max Poker
3) Top 10 Microstakes Poker Leaks

i´m phillip 34 years old and from austria. So this is my little excusion for my bad english skills

I play professional poker since 6 years now. My main game are the Nl 6max regular tables, stakes from 100-500 (500 now on Yachting Poker). On sundays you can also find me in some major mtt´s.

I´ll try to be pretty active in the strategy forums here, because some good hands discussions are good for everybody

Yeah, I guess you could say that. I don't have a degree in psychology, but I took a bunch of psychology classes back in school. Besides I was heavily into poker mindset "before it was cool" i.e. the only thing on the market specifically about poker mindset was... well the book called "Poker Mindset":) Since then I wrote a lot of articles on the subject in my native language (I'm not a native english speaker) and did a bunch of research ranging from psychology, neuro-linguistic programming to strictly poker related sources. I still play some poker though much less than I used to, I also do some programming and I'm in the process of developing my first video game.

no "really" big wins at mtt´s so far. i finaltabled the sunday brawl and dealed at a 100k gar. at full tilt, but that was all before black friday. But as i said i Play mtt´s only on sundays when the Weekend wasn´t too alcoholheavy
