Hey Gab,

Nice to see you on the site and hope to see more of you around here. How is the poker economy by where you live? Is it quite big in SA or doesn't it get much attention?

Hey Quita, I hope your test worked out buddy! Smile

Hi Harvie,

Here in Salvador poker have a good attention, have many live tourneys, but the people in general have a preconception of game and discriminates the players...

Here we a have a lot of good players, we have "Circuito Baiano de Poker" organized by FBTH (Federação Baiana de Texas Hold'em) with buy-in of R$ 290 BRL, and prize pool come to 30K+ Smile

We have many ocasional players here too, home games with friends is very commum here.

Ello everyone, names Johnathan (30) from BC Canada. I am a little fish wanting to grow Smile I have played some holdem a few times with some friends but nothing serious and have been watching poker on and off for a few years. Just recently started to play and really wanting to learn in the last week, and have been watching Jason Summerville on twitch for a couple months and has made me see the strategic side of poker and I like it Smile I have started playing on Pokerstars just with the micros. I'm having great fun and I want to learn the ins and outs, which led me here!

Cheers!

Hey all, I'm Jason from the US. Started playing a bunch of years ago, but really got serious about the game a few years ago during my first year of law school. However, I didn't pull a Mike McDermott and withdraw from law school to play in the world series.

I play 5NL 6-max micros right now, mostly on 2 tables of Bovada Zoom because I get a ton of volume so quickly. If Carbon had a zoom variant, I'd play there also. Still learning the game, still improving. Hooked on the training videos here and can't wait to submit my own for Jon to review. Hovering around 21.6BB/100 right now and I fully "expect" this to drop as I get more hands...although I don't want it to drop at all.

Jealous of you guys outside the US - you guys aren't restricted at all and can play wherever you like. At least I can play somewhere...

Hello all the new people. Its a fun place here, trolling is broadly nonexistant. Not so much traffic as some of the bigger sites but you can take peoples answer seriously so thats fun!

Cookie Monster and CrazyCookie with the same avatar. This is going to get confusing!

In my defense I didn't know CrazyCookie existed before I created mine. When you have an addiction to cookies, you're sometimes blind to your surroundings regardless of whether you knowingly or unknowingly realize it.

No critisism intended. Me also love cookies.

Hi guys I'm Tomas, from Lithuania, currently living in Sweden. I've had interest in poker ever since I was a kid and enjoyed the logic behind maths. Recently I started getting interested in learning the game and I signed up on this forum. Extremely new player here! If anyone could point me in any direction towards where/how/what to learn I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello, I'm Broschan from Sweden. I've been playing poker since 1985, online since 2000 on and off.
Enjoy mostly live tournaments at the local room.
Circumstances have again made it so that I most likely will be able to play more regularly online for some time forward, and I hope that the forums and PokerVIP.com can be of assistance, so that we actually make a buck or two. It was easy for an oldschooler back in 2000-2006 online, but online poker is played as if it is CounterStrike these days, so I need help adjusting to that.

Happy Days Ahead!

Welcome!

Wow you have played poker almost as long as Brunson! Any stories to tell about the old days of the game or what online was like back in 2000? Which was your main site then?

Where are you playing now? Whats the plan?

For training resources, free money and how our site works check out the post above yours. I hope it helps!

Hello and thank you!
When I first started playing poker we used to play PL5-card stud w a reduced deck (2-6 were removed). Lots of action! We also played a 5-card stud variant called Sökö, where a 4-straight and 4-flush beats one pair.

I first played Hold'em in 1995 at a local club, which is when I realised just how popular it was.

When I started playing online I was a Mac-person, and there were no clients yet developed for Mac. There was however a java-based site, Dynamite iirc, where mac-users could play. It was a rather small site

What sites do you play at? I know there is a Swedish poker room that's meant to be pretty dope. Sveska or something along the lines of that?

See you around Broschan.
