Welcome sir! Jurney thread can be an amazing tool when it comes to motivation and improving your poker game. Also, make sure to post as many hands as possible for a line check in the strategy section of our forums. And above all else have fun! We have very friendly and helpful community here (it's almost like you're not on the internet at all:P) so it shouldn't be too hard.

Hello all. quick bio: Retired early. From Vancouver Canada, Travel Medellin Colombia winters,
3 years playing-studying.
I play Private tournaments and home game $20-50.. 50 players buy-in, online sit-n-go up to
$3.50 and bad ROI... I feel like a "good" player...maybe I have a leak or two.
Not addicted to $$...small $20/100 same to me..I want to win..short term not an issue...maybe addicted to the game.
Tennis, surf, wind surf, bike, hike etc.
I wonder if i can add anything to the forum?? I hope so, I can probably easily learn a thing or two.
Im going to post my last hand from Wed where i got knocked out of my last live tourney.
so...Shuffle up and deal ...LOL

I started playing poker around the age 20-21, started playing online in the last year and a half. I struggle online but look to improve my game everyday, currently playing at intertops poker while working a full time job, would like to play lots of hands track them work up a solid graph and possibly get staked at some level. some of my goals. i'd like to reg at 100nl at the beg of next year. saving up for a bankroll!

Otb is a beast Smile
Welcome to the site, what stakes are you playing? If you haven't got a HUD yet then I'd recommend you download the month free trial with poker tracker, just to get a feel for it an too see how much it actually helps your game, your at a disadvantage playing without one while very one else is.
Where are you from?

Also, if you get a graph with 20k hands, you can then apply for staking on here!

~Hahaha chipsy...why is that?

How did you find the game? Really interests me when new people come into the game what it was that made them do it. For a lot of us it was the moneymaker effect back in the day.

Hi everyone! My name is Alex im 18, i've just started poker months ago, im pretty much stuck so im trying to learn from every website every lesson, because i feel so unexperienced in every move. First of all i've allways been the kind of guy that was good in every game, i switched to Hearthstone (an online card game, quite famous) and i've become one of the best Spanish players of the scene, earning 500€ in 3-4months, traveling around Spain playing tournaments by 2 known e-sports organization, which payed me everything bassically to play by his name. I feel like the game has gone in a wrong direction and it doesen't entertain me as much atm, plus is not that worth it talking about money to play it just for earning money (this happens to a lot of pros). So i decided to switch to other game, but, i couldn't find any game that fit's my playstyle or that i enjoy. Suddenly i remembered that MANY hearthstone pros played poker for a living and they switched to Hearthstone, but they still have enough money to live from poker, and now here i am. To be honest i never invested much time in poker, i mean i played a bit with friends, and i enjoy it a lot , also, i saw some pokerstars tournaments in tv in the past, but i've never been like a big fan, although i was pretty good. My goal is to maximize my earnings with poker and, to basically be better, learning from my mistakes, because this is not about wining money (Hearthstone is the same in this aspect) this is about becomming a better player, that allways makes good choices, THEN, the money will come (I guess :P). I played freeroll tournaments for weeks and i play like free-chipbased tournaments, to keep training myself and to not make the obvious mistakes for the time when i use my real money. But afterall, i have a 20€ bankroll and I DONT KNOW WERE TO START! I mean, i dont see myself at a wining position, i see myself wining 1 game loosing 2 (just a feeling, havent tried with real money). So... any advice? Where should i start from? Im reading all the articles of the webpage, but im not looking at the videos, theyre too long for me, if you recommend me like 1 or 2 i could definetly watch them.
Also talking about mindset i learnt A LOT from Hearthstone, there you loose like 1/3 games without having the chance to win it, even in tournaments so you dont play to win all the games, you play to maximize the chances to win your games. I think with poker is the same, sometimes you will make a play that looses you the game, but afterall if you repeat it you'll win more times than you'll loose.
Thank you very much for reading all this info, i read the forum and it looks really friendly and nice! Smile

PS: Sorry about my English, im much better when it comes to talking the language than writing it Worried
