3 day downswing, turned it around in 1 session this early AM 8 buy in up tick. Then another 1 buy in tonight at 25nl. So today was good, the 3 days prior were gross, here's one of the hands from a couple days ago, it was going like this often on the turn, best hand all in, Rivered in the face no money.. LOL. i guess you gotta just copy past.

Jon-PokerVIP: @aveits Yes Akkari always came across as the biggest in Brazil and recently during the PCA he was hanging with Ronaldo a lot and they said he was his poker mentor which is a pretty sick perk of the job.

So more home games rather than real casinos running the games? What is the problem just law and regulations?

We have much taxes, so we have just a few poker clubs, but is not like a casino.

But we have good tournaments also (not just bad news haha). BSOP is a good example of a good and big one and of course have also other tournaments, like regional tournaments.

Is a battle but we like it!

Great to have you here. Which games do you play?

New to PokerVIP. Used to be somewhat active at other forums but after encountering PokerVIP and the great RB deals I couldn't resist Smile

Currently I'm 21 and study in Amsterdam. When everything starts again in a couple of weeks I hope to be playing 2-3 hours a day during evening hours.

I have been playing on and off for ~2 years now, and I am currently a post RB breakeven NL10 player (lol). Trying to work hard on my game and could use all the help available, So I hope to become an active membe, so when I have the time I'll be sure to be around at forums!

Yo!

Great to have you with us. You say you study in Amsterdam...is that where you lived previously or come from elsewhere? Nice play to study? What is it your studying?

Being a break even player believe it or not is something you should be pretty proud of. Not many people can actually say that so you are at a great point to really drive your game forward, improve and become a solid and consistent winner.

Which site do you grind on?

I live a 20-30 minute trainride from Amsterdam so always knew the area, and it was a pretty easy decision to sign up to the university there. I study business administrations for about 5 more months, at which point I either go do something else or start for my masters degree Smile

Thanks for that by the way, playing break even is really demotivating to keep doing, but since I joined the site a couple of days ago and switched from Stars to StanJames through a awesome deal here I improved a bunch.
With players being a bit less standard and regs 3betting actually pretty solid I already had to adjust my game!

The only thing stopping me from moving up at the moment is somewhat of a downswing. Fortunately the rakeback kinda helps me stay break even regardless of the coolers/bad beats Smile

Hey, I'm Adam but tend to just go by Cooper/Coops.

Started off playing SnG's years ago and now I pretty much exclusively play MTT's for fun and hopefully bit of extra money now and then Smile

Only really been the last few years I've taken study and improving more seriously as I enjoy live poker and really want to move into more live poker tours

Had a couple of ok live results but still dreaming of that big score like everyone else!

Welcome to the forum Coops Yes

What site are you playing on? Are you using proper BR management or just buying in to any MTT? There are some good articles and videos on here for MTTs. Do you ever play cash games?

Edit: I've just noticed you joined PokerVip a year ago, and only now your joining in Cheeky

Must be a great feeling to be back in the game! What's the main differences between 2008 and now do you think?

Hey, yeah i joined here and pokertube last year but I'm more of a forum lurker than poster, I did a lot of the PT tournaments but vip seems to be a bit more cash based (correct me if i'm wrong) which I don't really play

I've gone back to partypoker at the moment cause of their dusk till dawn stuff and I'm in the team challenge on there.

I'm not really doing proper bankroll management right now, I tend to spread myself a bit thin over a lot of sites and just play whatever i fancy

Yeah it's mostly cash. I find if you get good at cash, the rest comes easy. I do enjoy the odd MTT tho, always looking for that big win CoolCash

I might see you at the tables on party poker as I'm moving back there also. Don't forget to post hands or any questions in the line check section, I'm sure there are MTT folk out there who can help.
