Hello hello

I have been playing poker for about 10 years. I first started out playing £10 - £50 games in the local casino in Newcastle (whilst beeing in the RAF) and then ventured to playing online at Party Poker and then Pokerstars whilst continuing to play in local games. I am an MTT player, always have been. I have played live cash in the casino's but have never played cash online, apart from the odd flutter. I changed my career in 2010, relocated to Reading, and started off my career in digital marketing. I now work as an SEO consultant (£30k pa) in the Milton Keynes area and reside here. I am single, have an 11 year old daughter who lives in Germany at the moment, and have commitments to see her and 'pay the bills' as such which has hampered my game and my ability to correctly bankroll manage.

My poker statistics can be seen below. For the first 4 months of this year I was out of work after being made redundent and spent a lot of time studying and playing poker, on a minimumal budget, but had some fairly good results. I felt like I was making progress but my intention was always to get back into full time work.

The biggest 'leak' I have with my game is poor BRM. I have never really been in a position to properly use BRM principles. It has affected my progression because I have been too quick in the past to cashout any earnings after making various deposits and playing above the limits that I can afford within my bankroll. I have found it difficult to play 50c MTT's because I have always been chasing that big win. I realise this is negative EV and I won't ever win. This is something I can take care of with the help of a coach, a platform for learning and studying, and a routine for playing poker and progressing my game. The motivation I have for improving is unrivalled and I am willing to do anything in order to reach the highest level.

In the last few months I havent been able to play as much as I relocated to another part of England. I have a full time job so can only play evenings and weekends which is frustrating.

I used to play cash regularly with Jon-VIP at the Grosvenor in Newcastle, doubt he remembers me though but I remember him, he just scooped an Irish Open package!

Good luck at the felts everyone! I will try to be as active as possible and offer insights where I can Smile

Hello everybody

I stumbled across PokerVip forum's in all honesty through a search engine when looking for RB deals. I'm glad I did as it seems to have everything I personally need/want in a poker site. Moreover it seems to be a great community which is what I've been looking for.

I'm a live cash game player from the UK,playing in the local casino's night after night.Although I don't class or see myself as a pro,I play 6 nights a week from approx 9pm-6am and bring in the cash as a wage if you like.Throw in an odd tournament to mix things up or the larger guarantee's and ill enter those also.

I started playing online when I was 18,wow I just realised how long ago that was.So about 15 years ago all told. After depositing and losing, depositing and losing, after studying and improving I became ok at the game.At one point I was playing $1/$2 all day.Through a combination of falling out of love with the game and not working at my game and taking shots at games i wasn't ready for,I blew alot of my Online BR, I called it quits and withdrew the remainder for a rainy day. That rainy day came in 2005 when I visited my local casino, realising how soft these games were on a weekend,it became regular. This then progressed over the next 12 months as did the live BR to a point where I committed fully and here we are today.I've now got the bug back for online massively and needed a new home.

Anyway,I hope to become involved in all things poker on here.I have registered at a couple of sites so far.I will make a journey at some point when allowed to document all online games.Maybe include my live stuff. If there are any study groups, skype groups please let me know.

See you around.

Hey people,

Due to chronic OCD,my username for the new pokersite i've signed up for wasn't available.Someone else must like Halibuts.I've been a member for about a week popping up here and there but in case people wonder why I have zero posts etc,

I have had to alter my username on PokerVIP to match my online poker sites. It really is due to bad OCD and everything matching. So its now Mr.Hallibut. No difference you might say,it has an extra L and that would cause me sleepless nights Smile

I will see you all around the forum.

What's the craic? Smile

I've been active on the forum for about a week now and loving it! I should have introduced myself before but better late than never!

My name is Colin and I'm from Dublin, Ireland! Just turned 24 years old and work full time as a Graphic Designer!

I love my job but I like the idea of making money on the side with poker! It's just a pity I don't get to put in a lot of volume but I try to play whenever I can.

As part of my work, I was involved in designing and publishing Player Ireland - An Irish Poker magazine! Not sure if any of you were familiar with it? It was a great project to work on!

I got into poker about 4 years ago but I've only started taking it seriously as a hobby in the past year!

I played on Bwin for a long time but recently moved to 888. Currently playing 4NL but ready to move up to 10NL very soon.

See you on the forums!

Hi there.

my name is René, i am from CZech Republic and i live now in UK. I visited local casino few times and first tournament i won. (1st place for 380 pounds).
I am 24yo and i play everything. But my primary format is cash games. Now i want to grind some roll and visit UK online sites and hunt the whales hard... (I was vegan btw so its only joke. i dont like violence on animals ^^).

My higher limit was 200NL - with three BI and i lost it all within hour.. haha
But this is past, now i primary play somewhere between 10NL-25NL trying to get better. I like poker more and more every day, because now i know what is shit work and manual work here in UK so i want to be a full time poker player later.

It is my passion, my love, my hobby and my life.
If somebody want pm me and we can make any study group or something like that. I was writing for Staking too so i hope i will get answer soon.

Oreeet Boys & Girls

Originally from New Zealand & now living in England. I am a 29 year old lad working as a Postman. I did leave NZ when I was 2 years old, but I thought it made me sound more interesting SmileSmile Probably not!

I love my job as sad as that sounds as it's nothing exciting really, just early mornings whilst the rest of the worlds asleep, just me my thoughts and bunch of dirty envelopes Smile but Poker is the dream as with a lot of people.

PokerStars is my my choice for tournaments which I play all day long on the weekends. Otherwise I'm a NLH soldier playing cash games on Stars & Sky Mon-Fri.

NLH > 6 Max
STAKE > NL25 > I am only 7 BI away from being in a position to Move up to NL50. I self exclude myself from stakes higher than NL25 until I have enough BI comfortably at next level to make sure I can't spew off any BR after a session in my local.
PLAYING > Properly for around 6 years. On & off for about 10.

I found Poker Tube via watching a Twitch stream of a guy called MrTilt001( check him out he's a boss) and from finding Pokertube I found here.

Catch you in the forums

Mr Tilt 001 is a confirmed boss and it's awesome to hear you found us because of his streams Smile

Man how do you calculate your route in the morning? Always wondered how it is done like you have a van, leave it somewhere, do a route, get the van, leave it do the next.....always wondered the process and amount of walking you guys do.

My Uncle was a postman for 25+ years and he said the same as you....he could just wake up, get it done and be the happiness man ever doing it.

Any graphs to brag?

> Jon-PokerVIP

Yeah he's unreal with churning out huge results. I actually saw one of his mods in the chat box called PokerTube and googled it.

Yes, I know it's never going to make me a millionaire but if you can be comfortable and happy, I'd take that any day. Your Uncle was spot on. Once you have got your body clock adjusted and it becomes natural I cant say a bad word for it. Nothing better for me.

We plan it around basically who can drive Smile Now I cant drive so I get paired with someone who can on a route near me. They drive somewhere in between routes, park up and he goes on his route and I go on my merry way. If I am really local, I walk and stick half of my deliveries in those boxes at the end of some streets or in the base of a postbox and keep having to go back. Plenty of walking mate, once were dropped off anyway. I try and do the uphill sections first while I'm fresh and full of energy and can amble back downhill when I'm tired.

I'm not a 'bragger' type person, I have graphs through HM2 obviously, I'll get on with finding the area to maybe upload some.

Howdy everyone, My name is eric I go by emk4976 or emk4976texas on the sites I play poker on. I started playing online poker back in 2007. I like some seen the money maker effect on espn when they showed the WSOP. I live in middle of Texas so its a long drive to a casino to play in either New Orleans, LA or in Durant, OLK. I won a seat in 2009 to play in the 2010 WSOP bracelet event in Las Vegas. http://www.wsop.com/players/playerProfile.asp?playerID=100807 here is the link to my WSOP cashes. I try to go play every year in there circuit events held in New Orleans ,LA. I hope to one day to turn pro before black Friday hit. When that happened it hurt a lot of the USA players like myself who was withdrawing on a monthly bases from FTP and Stars and a few other sites. Glad to be a part of this poker community. Best of luck in life and on the felts to everybody.

Hello Forum

Name - Stephen
Age 33
Occupation - Mortgage Advisor for Santander
Playing Poker : Since 2005
Variant : No limit Holdem.Through a mix of cash and Tournaments.
Sites : Pokerstars for Tournaments.Looking for a new cash game site with Rakeback.

I signed up after one of my friends recommended the site.I am part of a poker group that started way back at university and we are still playing weekly live in a home game, and live together on a weekend all over wherever we can.SJLMagic pointed me to come here, If your wondering why we have SJL at the start of all our names, the Poker Group at Uni was dubbed the SillyJesusLookalikes by a lecturer due to the bad beards we sported. The group although still playing regularly together is tailing off, some of the guys have got other interests and aren't consumed by the bug anymore. I still have the bug and need a new outlet to discuss all things poker.I'm having a browse through the deals and am tempted by the IPoker deals. Can anyone recommend one or another site if they have a better option. I don't really like Microgaming as their aren't enough tournaments to occupy me aswell as cash.I hopefully speak to you all at some point as you get to know me,as I'll no doubt spend alot of time here.Mortgage advisors dont really do alot of work if truth be told.

@SLJCryptik From what you wrote it seems like PokerVIP will be the perfect place for you. As for the ipoker deals, every skin in PokerVIP's offer is reliable and worth looking into and they all share the same player pool, but if you want to go with the biggest company consider joining William Hill, PaddyPower Poker or Betfair.
