Batman v Superman

I rarely get hyped. Usually, I have no problems with seeing the attempts at getting me hyped about something as what they are - marketing. That being said... I simply can't wait for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the last trailer turned my excitement up to eleven:

I'm a huge Batman fan. The opening to Batman: the Animated Series is actually one of my earliest memories:

It never failed to get my young self, scared and excited at the same time. Batman: the Animated Series was the first piece of art that wasn't talking down to me. It used the fun, heavily stylized, beautiful setting to tackle very important themes like the morality of vengeance, dealing with trauma and love. I was amazed at how well this show holds up when I rewatched it in my 20's. After the show came comic books and while the medium can be silly it also contains some of the best stories ever conceived. Long story short, I'm very excited. If you're not a comic book fan BvS should be a very enjoyable action movie. If you are one... I hope you're in for a treat!

I'm glad someone shares my enthusiasm;) We had a couple of interesting movies with 'Batman' in the name in the past, but we've yet to see a movie that gives comic book Batman justice. In some ways, the first 34 seconds of that last trailer could be considered the best Batman movie we've seen to date. I really like the Nolan trilogy, but you could change the names of the characters and those movies would've worked just as well. Since I was a kid I've dreamt about watching the animated series batman on the big screen and it looks like this dream may come true.

As for the Civil War... I think that Marvel movies are really uneven, but I trust Russo brothers because I really liked "The Winter Soldier".

Totally agree. And Afleck running into the dust cloud as a building is coming down is like Bruce Wayne lifted from the page. I reckon Batfleck is going to be the best Batman ever, can't wait for the solo movie.

Yeh Winter Soldier probably my favourite Marvel so far. Ultron split opinions but I really liked it.

We also have this to enjoy this year...

That first trailer gave me goosebumps. Going to be frikking cool to see Batfleck taking on Leto's joker.

Not a fan at all of any Marvel stuff or superhero things, however as a massive 30 Seconds To Mars fan I have to watch anything with Jared Leto so have to watch those ones
