No team has stood out for me. Its anyones tournament, as far as I'm concerned!

I have the same feeling about it. You know that the tournament is super close when Poland is among the four counties that didn't concede any goals. I'm excited for what happens after the group stage. The tournament is bound to open up more.

I could not believe these bets didn't come in for me......placed the bets around half time whilst Portugal were all over them and Pepe had already been booked

I've got the England, Wales double on, also! I only put it on because my mate is on a total roll and he has it on Laugh

lol @ Pepe to be sent off!

Wales and England to win are pretty decent odds there, I may have a punt for a tenner.

Could cash out all bets now for a small profit overall

Did you cash any of them out? At half-time I would have been telling you to let them all go because England were looking strong. 2nd half they were a bit of a let down and I guess a lot of bets were lost because of that.

I was actually trying to log into my PaddyPower account to put a doubles bet on but I could not remember my password.

Cashed out in the 75th minute for the England and double bet. Lost like half on the England one and won like 50% on the double.

Total loss for the bets - £30

Hungary vs Portugal what a game... for 82 minutes.

Anyone else not loving this 3rd place team qualifies? Because of that it killed the last 10 minutes of the Hungary vs Portugal game, and quite honestly half the games that have already been played were average. Make it 16 teams, top 2 go through, we'll get less games but they'll always be exciting.

COME ON IRELAND🍀🍀

@Harvie I'm inclined to agree. With the new tournament structure conservative approach seems to be the default one for most teams, though again I'm hoping this will change once we hit the next stage.

I'm English but COYBIG! Smashing the Italians and their cheating bullshit. Just need the goal!

Amazing performance from IRELAND😀😀😀
@thetallpaul WE DID IT🍀🍀🍺🍺🍺
Can't wait for France!!

I was really into that game. When the goal went in I was full on jumping. Get in there Brady! Hoolahan what a ball, plus also you jammy jammy bastard for getting off the hook after that sitter.

Seeing Keane react like that was something else. Brady and the tears with his (I assume) brother and wife.

Scenes.

Well played Ireland, well played Irelands fans. As a reward you get another crack at France. Here's hoping for a handball decision going your way to win it. Then hopefully England can find a way past the Iceland defence. Assuming practice makes perfect and having 3 games of battering a defensive opponent and not finding a goal means we've figured it out.

Ireland vs England in the Quarters. Please oh please oh please!

I'm not sure how many people noticed but the sides of the bracket seem to be heavily unbalanced. I'm kinda happy about this since Poland is in the one that looks easier (with only Portugal and Belgium as far as pre-tournament favorites go). However on the Ireland's side, we have France, Italy, Spain, England and Germany which looks considerably less fun. It's not like any team can count on easy matches at this stage of the tournament no matter the opponent, but the imbalance seems to be there.

Yeah its pretty mental. Every nation that has ever won a World Cup or Euro competing for 1 place in the final on the right. The other one is totally up for grabs. Poland could beat the Swiss, then the Croatians or the misfiring Portuguese, then say Belgium, who's team of individuals implode under the pressure. Not crazy scenario by any means.

I mean whoever gets there from the left side of the draw will be up against a top side that has beaten the best in the world to get there. But its one game! Could Poland or Wales for example beat Germany or Spain in 1 game? Of course! Could Poland beat say Italy, then Germany, the France to get to the final like Spain will need to do now? Sounds tougher. I think its great though. Straight into heavyweight clashes in the knockouts plus someone less fancied has a great shout of making the final. I'd rather we had swapped places with Wales maybe but whatever. Its going to be awesome!

So yeah... I'm mentally exhausted now and kinda mad at Poland's second half performance but... we got it!!!

That Shakiri goal though....

Insane and it's hard to blame defenders or the keeper. It's just the sort of goal that very good player might get 0-3 times over the course of his entire career.
