I'm sure some PokerVIP members are very, very happy after the first half of France vs Ireland. The match looks decently attractive too for someone who doesn't really have a horse in this race. I guess we have the early goal to thank for that.

I'm kinda hoping for the upset, the Italian team looked boring and underwhelming on paper before the tournament, but I kinda liked their performance so far.

I have no idea why English team so often underperforms in those big tournaments. It's not like they don't care, it's clear that players are well motivated.

Well oh well. Here's something you probably won't hear every day from a losing team supporter, but I'm satisfied for the most part. If I had to realistically gauge expectation for our team before the tournament I'd guess something between 1/8 and quarters which is precisely what we got. The team showed a lot of heart and a lot of solid football, but we also had some weak points that started to show in this match. I hope Błaszczykowski isn't too hard on himself for missing the penalty since that can happen to absolutely anyone and he's a great guy.
On the other hand... this Portugal team kinda exposes the new Euro Cup formula weaknesses where you can string together 5 medicore ugly games and get to the semifinals.
