So far things are going well at 50nl I have a bit of trouble playing a lot of tables and so my h/hr has dropped considerably but I think it is fine to just play the amount I am comfortable with and be able to focus at the tables.

Looks solid as a rock mate! Not that much variance in your game!

Teach me your non-swingy ways... It's very rare I get solid sessions in! Well doneeee

So far at 50nl. seemed like it would be a walk in the park but I have since gone on an over $700 downswing. I have changed up my cbetting range and my in position 3b range but that is about it and I think those changes were good changes so I do not have an answer as to why I am getting slaughtered recently. If tomorrow also sucks then I might go back to 20nl for a week or two.

Oh so sick and sorry to see that man but variance will do this and if you perhaps were not playing your A game then you can become victim to a downswing pretty quickly also!

Yes I am in a dilemma now where I think do I stick to what works that may give me short term results (may not cut it as I get higher) or keep trying to evolve and face the bumps in the road. I think I will keep trying new things but just at a slower pace and not change to many things before I understand new concepts.

Table=302
Rakeback=986
Total=1288

The start of the month made me lose a bit of motivation but then I really started to study a lot and started to make my losses back and I enjoyed the learning part. I will see going into Aug if what I worked on got me over the hump or if I just got lucky at the end. 50nl players are noticeably better than 20nl players but just in the way that there are more of the regs that are pretty good compared to the 20nl. Anyway looking forward to Aug I expect a record month.

Currently on a massive heater so I will increase my hours until it ends and see how far I can take it.

Sounds like the perfect play....Ivey once said to me "people who quit when they are winning are simply not made for poker"

I was getting that doom-switch but I told it to eff off and go away. It actually listened! I ended up quitting my session though as I was so tilted at my slow computer lagging and timing out even though I was paying attention. Hopefully I can pull off a few good months (or one really good one) and buy a new pc. I am thinking a powerful laptop but not tech savy so will have to get advice when the time comes.

The month has pretty much started to level off. After a hot first week I have been about b/e. So I know I am not there yet. I am attacking and picking spots and trying to pay attention but post flop I think I am worse than the average reg atm. I think I am better than the field pre flop though so if I table select I should still be able to make a profit. I studied pre flop last month and will continue that this month until I feel I am close to perfect before thinking deeper about post flop. Table selection is very key for me atm since I do not have an edge vs the regs.

I will continue with pf study this month and probably next month too so a total of 3 months just focusing on it before putting my focus solely on postflop. I want to get at least 50k hands in this month so I got to put in more volume but I lack discipline. I am doing as well as I hoped with my w/r but I am disappointed that I didn't get in more hands.

I didn't get any shift at my job this month as it is only casual so it is pretty important that I make up the difference this month from poker. I am glad to be winning at the tables this month since now my ipoker account switched to that gay real value rake or w/e it is called and I got almost no rb now.

Tables=1812
Rakeback=289
Total=2102

Some positives going forward are that I am confident I can beat 50nl as I am 11bb/100 over last 35k hands (7bb/100 total for the year which is an additional 11k hands) it just took a learning curve. I am running hot so I probably can't beat it for this exact w/r but I am glad to be winning. The more areas I cover pre flop the more spots I find that I need to work on so I am still not completely satisfied there. I only have a few more spots I want to cover so I should officially be moving on to postflop stuff say mid september.

Negatives on the month are my ipoker rb got super shit as you can see. based on what I raked this month it would have been about 1k in rb before they made changes so I am upset about that. Also about 10 days ago I asked a more experienced friend about some postflop advice and he gave me some pointers. I tried implementing them by just overdoing everything such as the bluffs and pretty much none of them worked out. So I blame the overbluffing for the downswing towards the end. But I then talked to him about it and refined some things and due to all the spew and the second discussion I have worked out many kinks and feel good going forward.

I am excited that postflop has maybe even more spots to cover and I might get pio solver. I am also looking for ways to make my blog more interesting as I feel it is boring to me and perhaps to who reads it as well. If you guys have suggestions I would appreciate it.

That's a bit difference in RB! Have you got any plans on trying out a different site with better RB or are you happy enough with Ipoker? Are you part of nay rake races to help with RB?

As for the blog, I feel its good the way you do it already! You add graphs, you say what you're going to work on and how you played. Monthly goals are usually a good addition, if you don't do that already....unless you have the same goals every month Smile

Interesting point on when you get advice and go too hard with it. I think a lot of people fall into this trap and they end up creating spots which do not exist.

In previous months I was playing only Ipoker but I play some others as well now. I am not part of any races no but I raked about 2.2k so I got back just about 10% which is stupid. i only played about 25% of my hands on Ipoker but it used to be the one with the best rb now they all suck. Since I have gotten better recently though I don't want to grind a site just for rb though so i'll probably just look into getting better deals on the networks I am already on.

Sometimes I put goals sometimes I don't. I am really just happy to be improving but lets make some goals. I was close to 50k hands so I would like to reach that but 75k would be much better. Because of withdraws I haven't moved up as fast as i'd like, I have made nearly 7k now and am still at 50nl so I would like to play at least one session this month that includes 100nl.
