Posting a bit late, but time for august overiew :

Profit: € 1366
Hands: ~63k
Hours played: 104.5

Considering how many hours I’ve put in and how I run – august was “okayish” month.
Most of the grind was in first half of august because I traveled to Malta and spent 7 days there.

3 days I was at poker camp/serminar at Hilton 5 star hotel. Camp was organized by coaching for profits program that I am part of and it was amazing experience! It was cool to meet bunch of poker players ( who regulary make 10k-40k monthly ) and hang out with them.
Seminar itself was life changing experience also.
Rest of my stay I've spent drinking/partying hard core Laugh

Short update for september so far. I placed a bet of 500euros for 100k hands challenge this month. Ofc, if I don`t play at least 100k hands - I loose that money. Zoom is allowed so last few days I started 4tabling nl50 zoom and doing okayish.

Hands played: ~53k
Profit: + 2265€
Hours played: 128

Damn that is a lot to lose for a sidebet. What stopped you?

I didn't stopped yet Jon, challenge is running until the end of this month. I need 40k more hands so I`m gonna make it Wink

September overview :

Profit: € 2113
Hands: ~109,000
Hours played: 214

So, overall september is pretty much disappointing month. Yes I profited 2.1k but after reviewing hands I see it could be EASILY 5k+ month since I had bunch of speewy mistakes.

However, I am satisfied because it is record month with both hands and hours played so far. I also had a day with 16 hours of grind 🙂
I also completed 100k hands in september challenge, but 2 of other guys didn’t so I guess I will win 500 euros from that bet 😉

Goals for october :

Get bankroll for nl200 and take 5BI shot.

Play at least 180h in total.

It's important to always stay hungry and aim to improve everyday. On top of that, everyone is different and some people actually benefit from being a bit down on themselves (and you might be one of those people). That being said I'd cut myself some slack if I were you since >100k hands is certainly in the upper echelons in terms of volume even among the pros Smile As a general rule I think the optimum approach to poker (and/or life in general) is somewhere in the neighbourhood of "always approach your results/circumstances with acceptance, but never be completely satisfied". You might want to course correct a bit. In any case, I hope you're going to crush the next month!

Hey @MattVIP , I dont think I am that much down on myself. I am kinda being realistic.
I reviewed hands (most of the big pots in september) and found out that I had more than 2k in pure speew. I'm not talking about those close spots in poker, but about those "tilty moves", instant river raises without any logic behind just wanting to win the pot etc...
I still need to improve my mental game a lot.

And btw I have to say that I like your articles. Good job!

Thanks for the kind words. I obviously don't know your situation that well so treat my last post more like a casual piece of advice than anything else. That being said I've noticed that you were a bit down on yourself before after a solid winning month so that's why I suggested some adjustments. In any case, I think you have the right idea and you're going in the right direction.

Np man, yeah I know what was your intention Smile

However I know that I have potential for much more, lets see how this month goes Wink

Pure spew is the killer of us all. Doesn't matter how bad we run, how good we run or how well we play 80% of the time....that spew will god damn kill us.

October overview :

Profit: € 2587

Hands: ~100,000

Hours played: 172

October started really terrible, first week was worst 7 days in my poker career. I just couldn’t win a pot and that was followed with my bad plays.

I was down -1.8k at some point but managed to turn things around eventually. Anyways, still happy with volume and hours put in. Shame that I’ve run massively under EV but on the other side my mental game is getting stronger.

Having high hopes for november so lets see what will happen Wink

Congrats on the volume and discipline especially in the face of poor results at the beginning of the month.

Thanks for support and following @MattVIP

How are you doing at the tables btw? What limits and rooms you play at?
Posted 7 years ago*
Its been a while since I updated blog. I was pretty much busy and had very poor results in november. Played only miserable 70 hours and ended up with loss of around 300 euros..

However.. I totally crushed in december and ended up having record month with profit of € 11,208 .

I took shot at nl200, obviously run good but I was also playing solid and had decent table selecting. Played 52k hands and 135 hours in total during december.
