That moment you realize the dentist was right about how strong the anaesthetic was:

Five toothypegs out yesterday and a bit wobbly coming home, weetabix for tea and lots of pain killers tabs. Short session and got around a BI up but sat out after the above, my eyesight was blurry anyway (which can make A4o look really, really, tempting for a 4bet shove!)

Going to pop a couple of 20nl into the mix later today and see how that goes. Just standard tabs, no speed for now.

Laters, it's antibiotics - o - clock.

No excuse this time except scared money, I was down 6BI and tilted this one. I very rarely tilt like this these days, may be the medication (ye right Mal, right).
Anyway, versus a couple of droolers, meet the worst played hand this week:

Wp me, just hope my coach wasn't watching or he'd disown me.

Saturday night and it's beer - o - clock time, have a nice weekend.

Still at 10nl and I'd say it was going 'ok'. I think the difference between me being slighly losing/slightly winning is a few small tweaks. I need to improve my big blind defence a bit more to, but defending 60% v a 2bb BTN open is a lot compared to my previous. I'll give it a go and see where it takes me, obviously postflop in these situations is where the real money is at.
got a coaching coming up so I'll learn more there.

No beer today, giving it a rest until Friday. Sweating

So Betfair excluded me from the Missions this month and my VIP has dropped from level 13 to level 11, wtf is that all about?! Might move sites, maybe back to Party or GUTS, I'll ask my coach and see what he thinks anyway.

10nl has been a bit meh and break-even(ish), but the coachings are helping massively. I do need to earn enough rakeback to pay the coach though, so volume is still a thing.

Got the mighty scrubx booked for 5 lessons this month so looking forward to that. I'll stay 10nl until the end of the year now and see what he thinks. BR is at 510 after withdrawing to pay a bill and coaching lessons so no 20nl for now, no problem with that.

Have a pleasant weekend.

I think they must have just rejigged the tiers or something because i have been changed to 11 too but it is still gold in colour which should still mean the same amount of points!

Regfest at nl10 so nl5 Speed last night to learn about data points and for the lolz. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

A comedian would have a job to produce a better comeback than that! Laugh

Sticking here til the end of the month, it's going well and I need to learn some stuff. Coach says I'm definitely getting there, so hopefully three or four more lessons and some work and I'll be back up to 10nl. Bankroll a bi tight for 20 speed for now, so playing safe - like the nit we all know and love.

Have a fun weekend. Beer

Merry holiday time to all at PokerVIP. HeartHeartParty
Posted 5 years ago*
So, started a package of 5 lessons (buy 5 get 1 free!) on the 12th December and had 2 lessons so far.

I had been missing far, far too many cbets (too many multiway pots) - it was at around 34% and kinda fit/fold - which I have got up to around 55% now.
I needed to get it to 55% to keep the mighty scrubx in a good mood, so job done hopefully and it's onward and upward to the dizzy heights of cbetting 70%+.

Only played a small sample as per coaching instructions, cutting down tables etc., and mixing 2X 5nl speed in with 10nl standard if the 10nl games look poor, but anyway, here's the green line so far:

Making more moves postflop which seem to be going fairly well and not sweating it when the all in bluff doesn't work, as long as the thought process seemed sensible.

Wont play much today, gotta keep the mrs company and watch crappy happy holiday movies …

… bring on fkn Mary Poppins why don't ya.

Oh joy. Puke

Happy New Year to all at PokerVIP! Party
Posted 5 years ago*
Just been reading a couple of high stakes hands posted by PokerVIP and it seems to me - from down in the trenches - some people have more money than sense!

Coaching 3 of 5 out the way and all seems to be flowing along nicely so far according to feedback.
Finding showdown value a little tricky, but then I always have done. To bet, or not to bet, that is the question and not as easy as it might appear sometimes. I'll get it.
Still at nl10 and no hud for now, don't really need one at the moment. for those interested in such a variable my winrate is down to around 5bb/100 from 8. A bit disappointing but the weekend was a 100e disaster.

I'll leave it at nl10 'til the end of the month or after the next 2 lessons to see what the coach says about moving up.

Poker going just fine lately but much to put right before my coaching package ends. Two sessions left and feeling good about my progress.

Why can't I access Pokerstars uk? Tried various links and download attempts and eventually got the dotcom one onto my desktop. It wanted me to upgrade to the uk one but wouldn't connect.
I wouldn't bother but coach says games are good at nl10 and I can get more volume there.

Sadness.

Hope you're well Mal, how do you think the coaching has helped you?
I might consider it myself when I get back into the game. I've taken a break since some time in November as I got my new PC and have been focusing on getting pro level guitar lesson vids made and such. So been spending a lot of time learning about the software and production, also spent money on stuff I've needed and booked a holiday with the better half. So hopefully now I've got all that sorted, which were my main aims, then I can happily get playing again! And get a new BR built. Can you PM me about Scrub's prices and such. As I should consider this in the future if I want to get on top of my game. Smile

It sounds like life is treating you well lately, nice one bud. so, a sound engineer as well now, is there no end to this man's talent!? Cool

His coaching has helped me keep things simple. It's not all nitty gritty theory, he has a relaxed but focused approach and is a good listener. I need to have the coach approach things like that becasue if it aint fun, it aint getting done. One of the first things he did was to cut my tables down, I now play 4 standard tables at nl10 is all.

Before coaching I was mainly breakeven at nl5 and losing at nl10/nl20 to the tune of something like (-12bb/100) and desperate for the rakeback.

After coaching, even though it's a small sample, the turnaround is huge:

Got the br to move up now but waiting 'til scrubx says it's all good. I don't think I'm quite there yet.

So where's the holiday going to be, somewhere exotic or a staycation?

Have fun. Sun

Sounds like it's working well for you. I'll give myself a week or so and get things sorted to get playing again. Stick a little money on and build (hopefully).
Glad to see the graph looking nice there. Hope it continues.
We're of to a place called Riviera Maya, on the Mexico Caribbean Coast. We've been waiting for a bit of time away together, so it'll be nice and well earnt I think. It's been something niggling at the back of my mind because I haven't been able to afford one until lately. We checked out what the holiday would cost after all the kids break up from school (we're going in June). And it's about £700 more! Crazy.
Anyway, I'll keep in touch and chat on Skype soon. Take care!
