Look like nice stack sizes there Bod. They used to jam it with a lot worse than 77 when I played there some time back now, so it must be fun times still on that site then! Clap

Personally I open fold KK, y'know, just avoids the variance. Emo

@Jon-PokerVIP No info as its hard to take notes on speed tables and no HUDs allowed, which isn't a problem, ABC poker works really well on these games!! Smile I was watching @RegiTime play the other day and he had quite a cool way of checking out villains stats in game, I'll need to figure it out!

@Pwll haha yeah the games are unreal! I am seriously thinking of folding Kings every time Laugh I really want to grind on Bwin to clear the bonus, but 888 is fishier than a hookers drawers!

The downfall of 888 is no rake races are any kind of RB!
Posted 9 years ago
No RB or rake races on 888 is a good thing, not a downfall. Sites that don't promote mass tabling and super high volume players are always going to be softer than those that encourage tonnes of moderate regulars to block tables and create scores of bad games.

Holy mother of god....I've won a hand with Kings!! I even got out flopped, and re-took the lead OTT....and then I win another hand!! Good thing I never stuck to my folding Kings strategy!

Hey BarraBod,

I know these hands arent in the default HH/Line review section so hope you dont mind me commenting.

In the first hand Am i reading it correct as that UTG Opens to 0.28 and you raise IP to 0.85 PF and then bet 2 into 2.50? Am I the only one that thinks both these bets are far too big? Similair with Hand 2,although not quite as bad as your OOP.

If these are standard default sizes,I think we need to look at them and re assess possibly.

@FlyinPancake All comments are welcome Smile

Hand 1 The PF raise is 3x UTGs open, which is standard. The flop bet is definitely not my standard, but as neither villain were 100bb deep, i figured them to be fish and feel they would call with any queen and flush draw...this time one actually had it tho.

Hand 2: The flop jam was because the SPR was about 1.2 and betting anything less just didn't seem right and committed me anyway. Anything that connected with the board was going all the way no matter how big or small I bet. I didn't expect 66 to call tho Laugh

Since moving to 888 I have been value betting a lot bigger and it's been paying off, these guys will call with anything Cash
I appreciate the comment and any thoughts you have on my thought process. good or bad!

OK not a problem, I could be wrong at lower limits these days but I personally dont feel 3X UTGs open w KK in position is standard. Possibly just me,and you got the money at the end of the day.

Poker Update

So I've finally managed my 10K hands (a few hundred under). I am very proud to say I am 1.8 buy-ins away from doubling my starting €200 in 4 days Laugh Obviously I ran good at the start and then things evened out towards the end! If things go smoothly for the next 10K I will move up to 20NL.

I started on Bwin, which I was enjoying until they closed my account for a couple of days. Thats when I started on 888, I'm now in love with 888! As you will see from my graphs below!

Changes

Some big changes in my game were losing the ego, value betting more, letting go of hands, not floating stupid boards and not trying to win every hand! I play no more than an hour at a time, because my concentration levels are terrible!
A couple of times I went on monkey tilt (4-betting A7o and then open jamming a 228 flop and getting snapped by AA) Laugh A couple of these stupid moments happened. Once they did I laughed it off and carried on, remember not to do it again!! So far so good!

Life

I'm travelling all day tomorrow so won't be able to play. Once I'm back at my parents playing will be difficult, as I will be seeing loads of friends and doing family stuff ( (beer)(dance) )
My graphs from the games are below. The graphs actually show less becuase its missing bonuses and the first 100 hands I played without the HUD. No idea why they didn't add on!

My graph from 888 from the past 4 days:

My graph from Bwin...Not as pretty:

So as you can see its been a good week on 888. On Bwin Im just under break even, once again it missed the first 100 hands I played!! I'm going to have to play there more to sort this graph out!!

SO I'll be looking forward to the next 10K hands and will keep you guys updated on the process. I had some bad beat screenshots with kings, but I'll save them for another post Cheeky

GL at the tables!

Drunk poker didn't go quite to plan lol Funny how my red line goes up and everything else goes down! And the more the drinks go down, the lower the green line gets. Made some very stupid calls. Bed time and I'll be sober tomorrow. I'm aiming to be playing 20NL by next week!

Add another rule in: 'Don't play drunk.' Difficult for an Islander I know!

You seem to be going nicely, it will be good to see you beating nl20 very soon - if you stay sober of course. Cheeky

The problem last night was I drank more than I planned to. I sat down, open the tables and open a can and before I know it, I'm calling a shove OTT with second pair because "he definitely has a flush draw". I hope that's the lesson learnt!!

I think its time to take a break. Just lost 10 buys in 1K hands Sad Run good has definetely came to an end. started to go on tilt and making calls I shouldn't have. Here are a couple:

When someone opens for 16bb, its usually not a good sign Laugh

Looking through my hands, I got a few bad beats, running AK in to KK twice and KK in to AA, but the rest I lost through bad play. I would say it was the ego trying to win every pot by being overly aggressive! Looking at spots where I should have folded and not even thinking spots through. Time to take a break and hopefully I'll get more hands in later. I'll just blame it on the handover today Cheeky

Favourite hand of the day:

I still feel confident on moving up next week. I just need to get my head back in the game.

WTF is that j6 os hand all about? Bloody hell i didn't expect to see that!

10 buy ins in 1k hands is pretty steep - was it in one session?

It's hands like that which are keeping my hopes up on beating these limits Smile
It was over 2 sessions. My head wasn't really in it so I'm sorting that out today. going to drink plenty water. Watch a video then play when I feel I'm up to it. I'll maybe have a practice session on the regular tables first. I just hope I don't fall too far below 9bb/100 or I wont be moving up.
