Ok so tried that plo thingy at plo5 and got crushed for around 3BI in no time so fuk that shit, I'm off to my old hunting ground, good old nl5 FF.

Gotta be easy there right? Right?

Think tonight (from about 1800 hands on) was the most aggressive field I've ever played in. Felt like every raise or 3bet got pounced on, just insane.

Anyway, new machine, new db and back in greensville, we like green, green is gooooood! Cash

Nighty nighty peeps.

Haha everyone dabbling in PLO! It is a pretty wild game but I really think it's a lot of fun and seriously beatable!
Posted 7 years ago
So, there I was cruising along nicely at nl5 and thought, 'I know, I'll take a short pop at nl10 and see how it goes for an hour or so before bed. I mean, I'm crushing right(?) so what could possibly go wrong!'

Nasty run out with the 44 buddy but wp for taking the shot...it is what poker is all about afterall!
Posted 7 years ago
Ye, it is what it is, it only has to stick once so I'll be giving it another go soon.
I'll pop in to see how the plo is treating you to, but since I bought a new pc my meagre br can't take the hit of me splashing around, for now at least; it is back to £126 = $161 after withdrawing the £200 though, so a couple of buyins more and I'll pop nl10 again.

Working on popups so no hud last few days which has been interesting if a little frustrating and I seem to be reverting to the raise anything vaguely pretty to iso limpers lately to but then they do l/f or l/c chk/f a helluva lot. Free moneez, we like free moneeez! Cash

Played a few hands of FF nl5 on 4 tabs, watched a streamer on twitch later on and had a beer or 6; easy game:

Attached Image

Tried to make a vid, the streamer was a (insert appropriate poker room here) pro and he's offered to review my play on stream. Unfortunately, even after (eventually) getting OBS to make a vid and uploading to YouTube, the quality wasn't great and there was a stupid hiss running through it and the sound didn't work.

Any advice for a media fish? The settings were all left except I used a kind of auto-setup thing after install.

Settings (done by some Beta setup thing):

Software encoding: Software (x264)
Recording Quality: High Quality, Medium File Size
Base Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Output Resolution: 960 x 540
FPS: 30

Clueless will now go walk the dog and see what he can find later on it.

Pretty crappy session today, felt like peeps were outplaying and outhitting me all over the place. Feels like a conspiracy when a 17/14/4 3bets my IP 5 hands in a row! I call Riggaments!

Finishing up my HUD and popups today. Trying to keep it simple, so hud is mostly cbet and steal stuff for FF and there're definitely no wallpaper popups for moi that's for sure! I've been playing hudless for a while now but the games are often very aggro so it's tough, even given my short term results.

Gotta go meet the mrs from work today to, it's her happy birthday and she's had no, repat, no, cards or prezzies yet, not one. Rolling on the floor laughing I shouldn't laugh she was nearly in tears this morning poor soul, she loves all that crap like Christmas and all that bollox.

Anyway, better go to town and buy her a prezzie and a Bordeaux or there'll be no cuddles for yours truly - again!

Have fun, laugh at the beats and don't forget the important people in your life, they're only there for a short time.

So I managed to get OBS going a bit, shame the sound didn't work, I talked non bloody stop and played pretty well to.

So here's 30 minutes of me not playing poker against a bunch of regs but it might be better on YT to be truthful, my media skills are sadly miniscule:

I'm off to buy beers ready Doctor Who and a short session later tonight.

Have a fun weekend and if you're in the blinds and it's my BTN then you know what time it is! Sun

Wow that hand. Think they might have overplayed their hands a bit. Awesome for you in the long run if you have UTG players willing to stack off JJ and really if you have a LP player willing to 4b stack of QQ vs a UT open, MP 3b and multiple all ins before him.

Getting fed up having to edit weaktight hands to remove names myself every time to, wtf is that all about.

Wanted to take another shot at nl10 FF today but the game was so nitty and passive if you got called preflop you were fucked, so I sat out before 100 hands, waste of space.

Off for wine and a vid instead. Doesn't happen much but a bit tilty today so no more play.

So out of curiosity, what did they say was the balanced, non-spewy, non-fishy way to play the hand. Everything up to river seems fine to me and why not raise, he has min bet 2 streets in a row, he is obviously not in love with his hand. Fact that he min bets 2 streets kind of leads us to believe he isn't the greatest most balanced GTO player out there, so why exactly did they say you needed to be balanced in this spot
Posted 7 years ago
I have no idea, I have vertigo, so I can hardly say I know much about balance can I?! Laugh

Thought this was ok v a 38/28/22 over about 300 hands. Not a common sight seeing me ship it light obviously, but this player was relentless.

Losing mcan become somewhat of a mundane thing sometimes to. BR = 30.xx

I thought I played well today to. Anyway, not much roll left after the last few brutal days in a row, so one tabling for a bit. I did win a couple of buyins yesterday but damn, I don't know if people can see my cards but I'm beginning to think they can see the turn!

Downswings suck and almost anything you can say in the face of one runs a major risk of sounding painfully trivial, but the best way of dealing with an unlucky stretch of cards is to continue playing good solid poker.

Have you considered trying something new? With all the years of experience and seeing the direction poker is heading I'm pretty sure if I started my poker career today I wouldn't consider anything other than jackpot hyper-turbo SNG's (spin&go and the clones offered by Microgaming, ipoker, winning and many other sites) or maybe MTT's if I had enough time for them. Maybe you could use a fresh start of sorts? It's just something to think about.
