Played a bit better today, but I'm starting to wonder if the guys at PokerStars have some amazing reads on me, as some of the calls made me wonder!

This hand, when he checks back I figured he had nothing, so I try to take the pot down with a couple of bets. No idea how he called. Does my line look bluffy?

I'm not sure if I can get away from this hand. I was starting to think he had a set. I checked to let him bet with his missed draws, but he ended up having it. Is this spew or ok for 56bb?

The last 2k hands I've lost just over 10 buy-ins. I've recovered from this before. Just need to get my head back in it. Playing a B game today.

I'm going to have to move back down to 10NL. I'm being out played at this limit, I'm paying people off with mediocre holdings. I've now lost 14 buyins in he last 4k hands. That might seem like a down swing. But these are some of the hands I've been calling with:

I should have folded before the river.

oh the pain. the god damn painnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Nice to see you get the deep run tho and those are some nice points towards the leaderboard. I have had 3rd,4th,5th,5th,6th over the last couple of weeks and it really does get to you as the big bucks, added prizes and points are for 1st however i just always think of the points and also that there is like 30+ tournis left to do some damage.

Tiger tonight?

Back Smile Not much to report. The weather was terrible which at work so we managed to et christmas in port, which meant a few drinks on christmas day!! Not quite the same as being at home, but it was better than nothing!

My poker playing will me minimal this leave. I spend a month away from my family and the other month glued to my laptop. So the only poker I will be doing is the $10 challenge and the odd OPL tourney! I still haven't decided where I'll do the $10 challenge. I/m thinking Sky poker. I've also started playing chess and bet trading, which takes up less time than poker. I'll try and juggle the 3 which leaving enough time for family!

Ill update once I've played a bit of poker. GL all!

Hi Barrabod, nice to have you around again and with a few days on terra firma to!
That weather mate, it was bad down here but you live in the twilight zone, it must be horrendous. Speechless lucky you're a hardy bunch up there isn't it!?

I watched your review vid with the big yin and it was nice here a smooth accent again, I haven't heard it in years; very nostalgic I must say. Smile

GL in the OPL and the chalenge btw, it all ends for the season soon, then it's wait a few weeks for next.

Yes

Great to have you back! Missed seeing you around the forums but knew you was away with work.

Good to see you jumping into the OPL! Season 2 starts mid Feb by looks of it so be ready for that!

Sky is a perfect choice and a great environment to spin up a roll.

Will go in and check the thread for updates. HNY and gl

Thanks guys Smile I was cringing when I heard my own voice on that video lol I got used to it as it went on tho. I had the microphone a little too far from me also. I'm only aiming to finish in the top 100 of the OPL now!

Things started well in the £10 challenge Attached Image
But then I got a little too over confident and lost a 3rd of my roll in a tourney lol Back to £10. I suppose the name of the game is taking chances! I forgot how terrible Sky Poker really is. I shoved a set on a K9T board and got called by 44 Laugh

I bought myself a wee new year present. An air rifle! Looking forward to going back home and firing this!

I might be able to squeeze some play in tonight and the OPL tourney! I'll be travelling back home tomorrow so there won't be much after that.

GL all!

I didn't think I had any chance of cashing in the OPL league as I missed a month of it. But I'm happy to finish 60th Laugh

My £10 challenge isn't going as well. I've been playing double your money SnG, but i've bubbled the last 4 in disgusting ways. I'll bounce back Muscle

Quick update. My poker playing has been minimal in the past month, as I stated I was going to spend less time playing and more time with my family. Did it work?.....no. I simply filled in the void with other things like chess and learning app development Laugh

I'm back at work now and I think when I return back on land I'll only play MTT. I might even throw a package together.

My GF has sneakily booked my driving theory test when I get off so I'll need to study for that now!

This journey will be quiet for a while but I'll be over on my new thread £10 in to £1k for the next while. Feel free to join in.

GL at the tables.

Yooooooooooo

Yeh this new season of OPL looks so sick and more new sites still to be added. Going to be around 90 tournaments total by looks of it over 2 months so gg social life and hello money.

I was dissapointed with my finish coming like 18th I believe (played almost every tourni) but by the end of it with prizes and everything I received just short of $1000 which is pretty great considering I invested like under $200 in the buy ins. Time wise I invested a lot but still paid a solid hourly.

Really motivates me to crush this season and get way more out of it.

Just played my first poker game in over 2 months. Decided to play some tourneys on Sky poker, as its the softest and I went for a bottle of Dalmore 15 to keep me company Smile I don't like the software on Sy too much but the players make up for it. I joined a £11 bounty hunter which I managed to final table as chip leader, with only 1 bounty on the way (knocking out 8th place).

Attached Image

I sadly went out in 5th place after getting in to a pot with 2nd in chips with 99. I flopped a set and got all the money in OTF, villain had QQ and hit the dreaded Q OTR. Which was annoying because they had crippled me earlier with QQ but I got back to top of the board.

Still an alright result from my break away!

Attached Image

It was a tough choice trying to pick what software to play on. I think i'll just stick to tourneys from now on as Ive no interest in trying to be the best playing in the world anymore Laugh

Ouch with that bustout hand but some nice profit there buddy!

I never understand peoples dislike for the Sky software - It is pretty glorious however I did play on there before they updated it 2 years ago and back then it was badddddddddd. What do you find bad about it?

Sky tournis are always going to be time well spent imo - small fields, filled with recreationals and good prizes up top. Can grind them out for sure! Keep it up

haha thats very true. I even gave up poker because of how much time it was taking up in my life. I replaced it with, chess, drink and researching companies to invest in....she now hates all of those things so I might as well throw poker back in to the mix Smile

Hey, thanks Jon. I think I've always hated Sky software as I used to play on it a few years ago and its just left a lasting bad memory. I still think a big company like Sky could do a lot better. Maybe even make the game more fun for the recs like UniBet do. A time-bank wouldn't go a miss either. It's still playable and maybe just takes some getting used to.

I've warned the gf that poker will probably be happening most nights now...only tourneys with the odd cash. I don;t know weather to put money in to a few places or just keep it with Sky.

I'll hopefully have some nice posts coming through, I might even start a bankroll challenge. In the mean time Ill also be over on my other thread - Investing - stock and shares - its not poker related, its pretty much what the title suggests Smile

Played a Double Your Money SnG and a £11 bounty hunter with no joy in earlier. Card dead but ah well. Not going to play much in the coming days as I'm finally leaving the big smokes of Glasgow and moving back to my home town (Isle of Barra) which should be fun. I might miss the city life a little, but after 7 years I'm kind of sick of it, looking forward to getting back to the quite life where nearly all of my friends and family live Smile

I might sneak a wee game or 2 in tomorrow as its a 3 hour drive and 5 hour ferry crossing!!
