I have not really seen much of the bumhunting but I do just sign in and sit at 4 tables and record type thing.

I actually noticed regs leaving good games and one left when the ultimate fish sat which was nice so I could get him headsup!

Haha mine is JRHartley! I wont mention any of theirs as some of them come one here but it really is quite pathetic at times! 3 times last night I sat on waiting list for a table for 20 minutes..................joined the table and they disappeared after 2 orbits!

Like I get it is annoying, but if they don't have an edge against you or the fellow "bad regs" why is it pathetic they leave the table? Just means they are table selecting and picking +EV spots which is kinda important...
Posted 8 years ago
Because I am far from a crusher and they literally scatter unless there is 3 fish at the table! It kills the games and imo there is a big difference between choosing +ev spots and bum hunting!
Posted 8 years ago
So you want the other regs who you are not crushing to sit and play with you? Sorry but there is no logic in what you are saying! Sure, you need regs to keep playing in situations where there is one or two before ish on a table, but if it is just you and regs then I wouldn't play knowing I have a bigger edge elsewhere.

Gotta realise that people play 10nl and 20nl for a living in Eastern Europe, and they will bumhunt all day long and will know that playing against regs puts there living at risk.
Posted 8 years ago
No sorry but what you are saying makes no sense! They are not moving to another table to play! This is Tonybet there is almost zero choice of tables! They are leaving and letting the games break which then take an age to get tables going again! If they just continued playing for a short period and kept the table running then the 'fish' would soon sit in and they would have their edge back!

@MattVIP is this monitor any good?? Stupid cheap compared to others!

I have absolutely no idea, to be honest. Never heard of this particular brand and specs can only tell you so much (though the fact that it has a gloss surface is a no-no for me personally). As a general rule, I won't buy cheap tech-related stuff unless I have a chance to test the device in person or I know for sure that it's good despite the price. That being said nowadays you can return most of the stuff no questions asked within a certain period of time so if you don't mind the hustle of sending the monitor back once you decide it's not good you might as well take a gamble and order it.

Thanks Matt that is what I was thinking! Torn between going cheap and taking a risk or paying more for an established brand!

I keep meaning to buy some new monitors

Jef147: A video Jon posted yesterday about Joey Ingram prompted me to watch the podcast with Bill Perkins last night! Wow that really did hit home for me the way he treats life etc! I only watched the first 45 minutes or so but I cannot wait to watch the rest!

I watched all of this since you posted about it and found Perkins to be a really interesting engaging guy, definitely feel like I came away from it having learned some lessons about how you should try and approach your life. Also Watched The Great Porn Experiment too as a result of the chat they had about Joes bet about 1 hour in, the less said about that the better on a forum like this I guess but the first goal is 1 month Smile

Haha yes I could not agree more and you can definitely see why he is so successful! The way he talks about life etc is like so strangely captivating! Never heard anybody come out with some of the things he does but then it kind of makes sense Smile

Yeh Bill is such a beast but one thing I do always find with businessmen is they all have such different approaches

- Some think it is all about putting your head down and running through a wall

- Some thing you should sit back, take note, then make your move

- Some have ping pong tables

- Some make all their staff wear suits

etc etc.

Different strokes for different folks. Sadly there is no secret recipe apart from getting super lucky or working super fucking hard.

Hey guys so those that have been following the staking thread will know that I am now part of the prostake team! Really pumped to be given this chance and really want to do my best for Nicklas and the team!

Played almost 2k hands tonight and not the best of starts as lost a couple of buyins! No big deal but I wanted to get off to a good start Smile I have had a really strange couple of sessions so far tbh I have never known anything like it! I had played over 2k hands and the biggest pot I had lost was less than half a buyin! Was really strange but I cant even think of a time I had the chance to get the money in! Suppose it is just variance but never had that happen to me over 2k hands! That was until this hand..............

Thoughts would be welcome! My thoughts were that when he flats the flop his range is completely draw heavy! JJ, FD's, JQs, AQ even! Flatting a made hand just makes no sense to me at all as half the deck are action killers/scare cards! So I decided to price out draws and commit myself on the blank turn! I think it is fine but would be nice to hear you guys thoughts.....................

I don't like the way villain played the hand. The fact you've C-betted into this flop makes it look like you have a piece so raising would make perfect sense for him. Especially with so many scare cards that could appear OTT. I can't comment on your play but I would agree with your range.
Posted 8 years ago
Really standard IMO for the reasons you've already stated, villain can be jamming over your pot bet with worse hands than KK or combo draws ebacseu the board is so wet. Lazy reply but I don't have time today and not much else needs to be said Smile

Keep up the positive attitude, try not to focus on short term results or sessions/how they've gone etc just think about how to play your ranges and exploit the players your playing against at any given time..

GL GL looking forward to following your journey!

Cheers buddy! Was fairly confident it was ok but when he flips over 99 it's easy to question yourself so nice to get some re assurance!
Posted 8 years ago
Looks like a flip on that board, so if you're happy to go with it I'm not qualified to disagree. My only deviation would be to 3bet larger preflop to 4x being OOP as a 'standard' for me, or 5x if our friend on the BU is known fishy or BB is liable to tag along, but certainly not a disaster as played by any means imo.

Just a thought, what about betting larger on the flop and just overbet ship turn if we're committing ourselves anyway? Just an alternative idea, I doubt a big draw will fold anyway often here.I'm guessing a bit obviously.

Congrats with the staking and have some fun! Cool
