Yes its BRS, been them now about two months and have learnt a ton.

Hi Guys back again.

So just to move on the story a bit results wise.

January was a good month with a few Final tables and also my biggest score on PartyPoker to date, when I came 3rd in the $11 Sunday Brawl for $535 in total. The month ended well with another Final table and another $100.

Then we hit February which was a bad month. No final tables and only a few min cashes to account for. Variance and Tilt were hitting me square in the face and knocking me over. I actually put my tilt down to over confidence and another factor was Partys change of structure. I know they say longer structures are better for the good players. But it was taking me 4 hours to min cash for $4 and $10 and I just was not happy with this. Well I eventually got over it after taking a short break and reading the Mental Game of Poker. Great Read I would highly recommend it for anyone with a tilt or confidence problem.

We are now into March and it has started okay. A few deepish runs but no final tables yet. So lets hope variance has F Offed for another while and we can eventually take down my first Tournament on Party Poker.

Yeh The Mental Game Of Poker is very helpful. I found it helped with more than just poker. Must get round to reading it again soon.

I think overall the longer structures are better however PERSONALLY I don't think they need to repeat the first blind level like they are doing at the minute. I play $1.10 - $5.50's on there and I agree, long way to the bubble and then like, there are pay jumps every 9 people for literally pennies in difference. I'd rather they have a payout structure similar to stars where it will be like say a 30 knockout gap between pay jumps but there's a decent difference. Nearly screenshotted both the other day as I went deep in a $1.10 bounty hunter on Party and a $1.10 Progressive knock out on stars and both had similar numbers

Ya I took a few days of read it and now I no where my tilt edge is and what to do about it.

Ya very true no need to repeat at all. Like some of the $1.10 games have $100 up top and you have to play for like 9 1/2 ours to get there. That is just crazy. Ya the pay jumps could be allot better. Like even in the $5.50 going up .70c is just not worth it. Whereby if it was going up close to a buyin it makes it more worthwhile for-sure. Well we just have to grind on.

Just a little update. I made a Final table on Party last night (First Time in a Long Time) in the Daily Major Low and managed to scoop 2ndfor $801. Really chuffed with this as it was my biggest score on Party so far and shows me that I am progressing well with the coaching I am receiving. Little bit sickened I didnt take my first win, but hey $800 dollars is a good consolation prize.

Well lets hope there is more Final tables to be had in March now that I have control of my tilt and confidence.

Cheers Ash, Ya $800 was a nice score alright. Ya hopefully a few more final tables over the next few weeks.

Any updates for the past week/weekend?

What is the coaching like at BRS? I see they have some SICK coaches on board like Bryan Paris and Simon Deadman etc? Do you get much input from them?

Have not played much since last Friday, As it was Paddys Weekend and I decided to let my hair down. So not much to report.

The coaching is excellent at BRS, We have two options for two training sessions a week which are usually hand history reviews or Live Sweats. I am currently in the BRS Academy and not the main group so we do not get any input from the headline coaches as such, but they do have coaching videos by them which we can watch. We have an academy coach and also a Manager who tracks and helps us with our progression.

Are you playing professionally or do you have a full-time job?

Just a Quick update.

March so far has been a profitable month. With plenty of cashes and few deep runs since my $801 score in the Daily Major Low. I got 11th in the $5.50 Bounty Hunter for another $80 bucks and a few other deepish runs and min cashes.

I finally tried playing 4 tables and was very surprised how I handled them. Previously I was only playing two tables, but for volume and boredom reasons I needed to up this. I found myself getting distracted and going to Facebook etc with only 2 tables. By adding another two tables I found myself allot more focused.

I am taking a day of today as I have coaching in the evening and do not usually play before or after this.

Anyone that has questions, fire away and I will answer them in good time.

Slight #thin brag here, I was loosing player before I joined BRS just over 3 months ago.

The current coach for the Academy is Davide Anicito. I find him very good and he has really helped my Thinking process.

Ah cool, is it just NLHE you play? Do BRS do PLO backing?

No some players can also request to play PLO alongside NLHE.

UPDATE!!!

So the end of the month (Past Week) has been a little up and down. With the start of the week getting of to a flyer with some deep runs and plenty of cashes. But the last two days have been slow enough with no cashes at all in the last 20 games played. I know its only a small downswing and just a matter of winning flips again.

Played a Home game last night with a few friends and we have a Royal Flush bonus which we put €1 each a week in. It had not been won in 3 years until I dealt it to one of my Friends last night who took the Bonus for a cool €1500.

The coaching is going amazing and I am starting to really multi table with confidence and finally not panicking. When I say Multi table its only 6 tables at a go, But I have no choice as I only play on a Laptop.

Well here is to hoping that April is profitable month, But if not then I dont mind as I know I am making the right decisions and it will turn.

Just a little update again.

Nothing major to report this week as it was a fairly break even week for me. Variance has returned again in a big way, dont want to sound like moaning but over the past two days I have played like 20 tournaments and got rivered at least 10 times. But hey its going to happen and the difference I see from the last time is the fact it did not tilt me.

So with that said lets try and have a good start to Week. I am playing early today so let the grind begin.
