Grinding on my old Advent, 120GB HHD - 1G RAM - laptop, hasn't went to plan. I forgot how terrible it was! I only opened 2 tables because I thought thats all it could handle but after about 20 hands UniBet became non-responsive and it took a good 10 mins to finally come back to life. I was in a hand on both tables which were both folded so I was too angry to carry on. Looks like i'll have to wait over a week until my MAC is fixed.

Something stupid like this always comes up when I pan to play on my time off!! I'm going to buy a keyboard for my old Dell to see if that works any better in the mean time!

I manged to get my old 2G ram into this old laptop which has helped. for some reason it wouldn't take the 2 2G slots of ram, I think I have to overclock the laptop to accept it but the bios is too basic and won't allow it. I may find my way around this eventually.

Decided to play the micro millions ME. Will update on how I get on. I'm a bit rusty at the tourneys so can't expect much!!

Out in 22k-ish after a questionable shove. Boom re-player of hand

Looking back, I could have min raised to 1400 and folded to a raise and still have chips left to play!

Back to cash games on UniBet tomorrow now the laptop seems ok Smile

I think this jam is correct. We don't love calling it off and if they fold we win a heap of chips from blinds and antes. Plus we can get called by worse of just be flipping a lot.

I suppose I might as well uodate with my starting BR

I'm only going to be playing 3 tables for the first couple of weeks. Heading back home tomorrow for a wedding until Sunday, so play will be minimal until then.

Poker
My aim for this leave is to reach £300. I don't see how this should be a problem. Hands will be low but as long as i play smart and keep track of the other players - which has been helping me a lot lately - I should reach this goal!!
That's the only goal I have. Obviously things could go pare shape but I'll update my progress.

I guess with a site like Unibet progress will be slower but more consistent and the winning days will always suck. Just take your time, make the best decisions and imo move up levels quicker than you would on other sites. br can take more risk if playing on so few tables.

Decided to take a wee break from cash and play a £10 tourney. 92 entrants and finished 8th AJ < 64 which was annoying, especially how I lost another flip AKo < AJ to lose half my chips. £170 up top which is frustrating but happy with a win.

It was probably the longest bubble i've ever played. There was a frustrating part when there was 2 short stacks with a few BB and I had about 8 or 9 BB so had to keep folding until they finally got put out. I lost a lot of chips in the process as i couldn't steal the blinds with the big stacks at my table.

That's the downside of tournis...never happy unless you come 1st. Nice return tho man and no doubt bigger things will be to come. What is their biggest buy in/guarante per day now? what about their sunday major?

Not much to update from the past week. I was back home at a traditional Scottish wedding (pic below) which took up nearly a week, most of it was drinking and the rest was recovering.

Poker wise i've only managed a few hands. My flat is full at the moment (gf, dad, wee bro and son) so been pretty busy doing stuff with them while their out!!

My BR hasn't changed much

I had a very up and down day, losing all-in AQ < AJ and this hand when the guy kept calling shoves so I shoved AKs:

I got him back 2 hands later, maybe tilting but I felt 55 would be doing well against his range...more than likely tilt tho Cheeky

and this was the hand that really done it for me against him again Smile

These hands may seem like complete overplays, but I didn't see him fold to a shove pre, yet!

This is a hand where I seen villain bet small with their strong hands so i automatically thought they had an 8 or ten OTF and I knew they couldn't let go of a hand, so I went for another shove. Thought on this one?

This is the only pic from the wedding where you can kind of see my kilt and i'm only semi-drunk (left) Laugh

Lol why is your face all red?!
I think I'll get murdered at tourneys. I only play micro cash...it's not like I don't get murdered there either, but there's other considerations in tourneys that I'm not aware of It wasn't me!

That's my mates face lol it goes like that when he drinks.
I find cash players do ok at tourneys, you just have to learn about different stack strategy, because you're playing against a lot of different stacks and your stack always changes, as do the blinds. Obviously there is a lot more to it than that, but its worth throwing in a tourney table while grinding cash. Tourney feilds are softer than cash ones Smile

It goes like that when he drinks? I thought he had just gone an extra 3 minutes on the sunbed the day before!

That really happens to him everytime he drinks?

I played an hour of 2 tables today and I played so bad! Not just rivers calls, but random re-squeezes, calling small 4bet OOP with 9To, double floats with next to no equity. I was at a very aggressive table which made me overly aggressive on both tables!! some of the 4-bet bluffs were ok against the 3bet happy villains, but I ended up going crazy with the aggression. Looking through some "leak finder" videos to get my head back in the game!! Going to play a little more today, will update how that goes.

The overly aggressive me was still there when i logged back on. I tried a triple barrel bluff with no equity because I had seen the guy float a backdoor straight OTF so i convinced myself he had did it again! I seem to think people are playing back at me and being overly aggressive themselves, I'm starting to think I'm just running in to the top of their range. I lost TT < KK SB v Co because I thought he was 4betting me light so I jammed!

something tilting was after I lost the TT < KK hand, UniBet doesn't let you auto top-up so I was left with $0.80 and I got 77 next hand and hit a set agaisnt AA Laugh

I'm going to blame all this on the baby taking all my sleep SleepyGiggle

here is the random 3 bet bluff:

Co opens 3x to 30c
Hero (SB) raises to $1 with 109
Co calls

This was as a bluff

Flop
pot ($2.10)
[4J5]

Hero: bets 1.20
Co: calls

I had seen him float with 9To on a similar board

Turn
pot ($4.50)
6

Hero: bets 2.25
Co: calls

At this point i think he has a jack or broadway flush draw

River
pot ($9)
A

Hero: bets 6.10 and is all-in
Co: calls and shows AJ

The bluff might have worked if he had a weaker jack, but the point is I should have gave up a lot sooner, even folded pre!!

Time to go to bed, I hope I lose the aggression and ego over night!

Just tired, the baby sleeps all day and keeps us up at night. I knew I was too tired to play at one point but decided volume was more important! I'll maybe try napping in the afternoon when the baby is sleeping!

I played some late night poker last night, I was ready for my bed before all the fish and/or drunk players came. I've never made so many notes in my life, I had paragraphs on 2 guys who were crazy and had obvious betting patterns, like raising 5x with premiums and over betting the river with nothing, while betting small with nothing on earlier streets. My laptop then decided to crash and I lost all my notes as they are on notepad and I forgot to save it!!

the fish were winning everything, AK < T3, KK < A5, flopped 2 pair with 56 and he river a better one with 72o Laugh

This was one of the guys sitting with 450bb and I decided to stay patient and wait for good hands to take his whole stack, eventually. He was calling 3 barrels with any part. Sadly none of my notes came in use and now I've lost them, but hopefully i'll see them again!

Then he left the table and signed straight back in with 50bb Laugh

I've got an appointment with apple today to try fix my laptop, so hopefully its a quick job so I can get back to 4+ tables. I'll try play no more than 4 tables as what i'm doing right now is paying close attention to all the other players and i'm going to figure out a way to beat them! So far my ranges have been spot on after a while playing with some people and the help from my notes, once I start them again!!

I pulled off a stupid bluff against one of the fish. He raised 5x (which he did with AK, QQ+) 4 to a straight and the flush made it on the river which i tried to represent but he obviously called with his overs. Only my own fault. I wasn't too bothered as I felt I'd make a lot of money off him.

I was playing a $1 SnG on UniBet, I got 4 free $1 tickets so decided to use them...I bubbled 2 of them and got a second, but I was put out by KK all 3 times Laugh Anyway, the guy who beat me heads up had previously folded to a 535 shove with 1435 in the pot, he was in the BB which was 500 so he only needed to call 35, he did this twice...He only needed 2.5% equity to call Laugh

Got to love UniBet.
