A little introduction and some advice needed

Posted 9 years ago

Hi Guys,

This is my first ever poker related post so be gentle on me. I started poker on 24th december 2014 and started right away to study like a maniac because i wanted to know how good i could get in 1 year. I bought a shitload of books, saw hundreds of videos, went to Vegas to follow a WPT Bootcamp. I am a member of Tournament Poker Edge, The poker academy and deuces cracked. Currently i'm studying the books written by Jonathan Little. I only focus on tournaments and sit and go's. I have already had some very nice results. Won 5 live tournaments with 70-120 participants and numerous final tables. But that's primarily because the competition here in Belgium is not very good. Online i think i made a little profit last year on Stars. This year i moved up in stakes and my goal is to be profitable at the end of the year online.

So cheers to the community and good luck to all at the tables

I have no history whatsover with villain. It's the first hands of the tournament. I put villain on a K, or a set.

I don't really like the open with T9o in MP but I suppose because we're deep stacked and it's at the start of the tournament it's ok - especially if you think you have a skill edge and/or the blinds are bad.

As played, yep barrel flop, turn + river. On the river we are only losing to KcQc, KcJc, KcTc, Tc9c I think. And sometimes villain shows up with Ac8c/Jc9c. We beat 88, 77 and sometimes 66 if he decides to float flop. We have enough equity versus that range to call.

Versus 77, 88, KcQc, KcJc, KcTc, Tc9c we have 65% equity. And we're getting 3:1 so need 25%. Also at the start of a tourney we want to build a nice big stack - if this was on the bubble we can contemplate folding.

Hi thx for the reply. I went totally bananas and got really frustrated when I played that hand because I called and ofcourse villain showed up with a flush and I was out of the tournament. I am working on my tilt management ever since then Wink
