BINK a tournament, then the issue starts........

Posted 7 years ago

Hey Guys

So this is actually my first post on the forum here, although Iv been browsing for the last couple of years, and I'm after some advice.

Iv been playing poker Recreationally for the past 3 years now, mainly playing on pokerstars and the occasional live tournament. In this time, I have accumulated relative success being in profit by about £5000 online and a few live tournament wins. I mainly stick to tournies and have won the hot $11 and $27 knockout; and final tabled the Sunday Storm and The Big $55. So I must being doing something right. But here where the problem lies.......

Whenever I manage to get a big cash my bankroll doesn't stay in a healthy way for a long period of time. I tend to play a higher volume of tournaments and try and recreate that recently winning euphoria Iv just had but it never seems to work. My $27 knockout win was only last week for around £2400, and already I have lost £300 of that in no time. When ever I get knocked out of a tournament I always go straight back onto the client and look for a new one to enter as I feel like I don't have satisfaction unless Iv had one deep run.

Because I have had some success in these higher tournaments; I really don't enjoy playing the smaller buy in tournaments ie; The big $5.50, $3.30 bounty builder etc. The fields are always triple the size and the variance seems to be a lot larger.

Iv tried playing cash online at low stake but it really doesn't interest me and have also played cash live and had some good returns..

I really need some advice on this problem as I don't want to keep blowing my bankroll after a decent win. All advice is welcome, as harsh as can be! Although try and be soft it is my first post after all Smile

If this is in the wrong section feel free to move it

Thanks

Ok so tournaments are generally pretty brutal when it comes to downswings. Only the best of the best can consistently win...most will have huge up and downswings like yourself.

Also online you are going to win and lose at a must faster rate as I assume you will be multi tabling and constantly regging.

The truth

- Keep playing lots
- Play within a bankroll

You just have to ride that rollercoaster of fun mate!
