RIP Full Tilt Poker

Posted 8 years ago

So the day has come that Full Tilt Poker now does not really exist. It does but it now has a shared player pool and yeh nosebleeds are gone Sad

Pretty gutted really as FTP was like the nosebleed place everyone would flock to rail the games and just aim to achieve. Now it's just a nothing really.

Best FTP memory? Has to be this:

Just realised my money's gone, had a couple hundred dollars in Full Tilt, assumed it would transfer over. Anyone know what happens to that money?

I've been playing on full tilt the last 3/4 months - the money will now be in the stars account.

Hah! Not if I can't get it. I had about $60 in Stars and couple of hundred in Full Tilt, now only got the $60 across my "stars" account. Will have to email them

Something I wrote on Facebook about Full Tilt closing down:

So the end of an are has finally hit us, with Full Tilt Poker merging all of their traffic into their sister site Pokerstars. This was a step Amaya said they felt they had to take, but I feel it was one for the worst.

With the removal of the nosebleed stakes games the attraction was ruined for many pros and railbirds alike. Once these tables disappeared the games just started to die off, which I have to say, I think was their plan all along.

There is no doubt that 99% of the excitement of online poker originated from Full Tilt Poker.Having red pros sit at the tables with bounties on them, running giant FTOPS events, and of course the creation of Rush Poker, gave so much towards the enjoyment of their customers.

Not only this but the main draw was of course the insane nosebleed cash games where well known pros such as Ivey, Antonius, Matusow, Juanda, Lindgren, Greenstein and the main man himself Tom Dwan, could be found playing for insane amounts of money. These games attracted some of the richest people in the world including billionaire and Cirque De Solie owner Guy Laliberte who reportedly lost over $20million in the 3 month period he played. Loading up the lobby to witness six and seven figure pots was just a daily routine for pros and fans and it is so sad this will never be seen again.

Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan aka the King of Full Tilt Poker held the crown of the sickest player of all time, even whilst players like Jungleman12 and ILuvWnba were winning tens of millions of dollars. Fearless, aggressive, and five years ahead of his time, he was just a perfect decision maker.
Durrrr ruled the games and was once up over $8 million in a twelve month period. His achievements shocked the poker world, and made him one of the most entertaining and dangerous players to ever grace the online felt. This was until the one and only Isildur1 entered the games (who we will discuss later).

It will be sad never to see these names again and also to just never see the same lobby/table style as before. I really wish Black Friday never happened and also wish the founders Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Ray Bitar were not so greedy. They really had a great thing going and had no reason to piss it all away.

So Full Tilt it has been emotional,

This is a bit of a tangent, but did Blom and Durrr 6- table HU against each other, or was Blom's 6-tabling vs diff people? If you're playing HU vs someone, why would you need 6 tables going? It seems like 1-2 should be enough, and playing 6 HU tables vs same player, it is only partially about poker and the rest about brain processing speed.

RIP Sad Had a lot of "first times" there:

- first hand NLH Cashgame online in 2008
- my first MTT-ship (was fail because was fixed limit and misread the games in the lobby)
- my first and last time when I went broke (tilt: playing with my whole NL10 roll at NL400 Table)
- my first and last time when I moved up from NL25 to NL200 never looked back after this
- my first 5 digits on a poker-account
- my first hateful feeling against the poker industry (black friday and Lederer Scam)

Thanks @Full Tilt, was a rollercoaster but it was nice Heart
