I think your line is perfect (like the fold too). Can't really see them shoving the river with anything worse, they are calling with all 8x that don't make a full house, lots of K8/98/Q8 in their range, along with a few 99s and even KK/QQ that went for some arkward slowplay.

I do expect to see JT/T8 and worse 8x sometimes but not all that often, very few fish shove rivers without having a nutted hand in my experience.

Your line is pretty much screaming I have 8x to them as well, so to shove I don't see any bluffs, the question is whether they are value shoving a hand like J8 or JT.

Can't really blame you for not raising pre given that you were out of position, but A8 is certainly strong enough to do that vs. particularly weak players. As played I think your line is good. I like the large value bets with this stack to pot ratio and I like the disciplined fold on the river. Again, with such a high SPR I can't envision the opponent shoving with worse.

Agree with both here. You played it fine. Also like to raise pre if the limper has high limp%

A8 is part of my limping range OOP. No need to put yourself in an awkward spot OOP if you're not confident.

I think the line is fine. Potting it on all three streets looks bluffy against alimper who will be bad more often than not.

I don't think calling the river is out of the question though. This guy has played 4/4hands, and we've seen him limp twice which should tell us that he's possibly bad enough to overplay if he has a bare 8,plus he does have bluffs sometimes.

You could raise pre with no players left to act but checking is also ok with a hand that doesn't play too well out of position.

I wouldn't donk bet the flop here. You aren't really doing that with your bluffs so why do it with such a strong hand. Go for the check raise and put villain in a real tough spot. You could even stack off slow played aces.

As played I would check the river. Villain clearly has something but you have no idea what. You could be way ahead or way behind. You never have a boat here since you raise 99, KK and QQ pre. So you are folding 100% of your hands when jammed on. By checking you can induce bluffs or make villain think they can value bet a worse 8x hand.

Mistake there, saying you never have a full house. But you're not donk betting 98 on the flop. That leaves too few hands to bet the river and call a jam.
