Anon v bad TAG, too agressive preflop, thinks he's table captain.

So is my turn bet versus this type ok or maybe I should tone it down a bit because they can do what they did and it gets awkward?

Is there a better line, like say, chk flop, call turn, call non spade river perhaps? Bet flop, chk/turn always seems a bit face up to me that I have no flush because I usually just bet out when I do.

I like to be agressive, take initiative and all that fun stuff, but maybe sometimes I don't use the brake peddle enough.

Thanks.

I like 3bet preflop. Why donking flop? Let him cbet with all his range, including all his bluffs. They fold flop most of the times, and u lose value. Yes,check call turn. He wants to tell us at turn that he has a flush,or set, really? I dont believe him( too agressive preflop, thinks he's table captain). Check call river, let him hang himself, when he shows KJo,T9o,etc.

If he is too aggressive preflop then definitely 3betting pre. As played ch/c flop and ch/c turn as said above and it comes to a decision on the river. Possibly ch/folding a spade unless his aggression stats are way above optimal.

What is your 3b in the SB? Specially against a BTN open. If it's like 8-10% and you are not 3betting AQs then you are 3betting way too much bluffs.

This is a standard 3 bet pre flop at all stakes unless you have a concrete reason for not doing so. You can expect most villains to defend by calling with many worse Ax as well as broadways. It's just good for value.

I live your lead out on the flop multiway, I would check heads up but donking allows you to avoid people taking free cards on a draw.

On the turn I would just make a tight fold OOP, he might do this with a pair and spade and but can fire any river and we can't call against his value range. When you lead out on the flop you're repping Ax or better,if he's bad does he expect you to fold?

You make your money in these games by value betting people to death not by calling down after a turn raise which are the vast majority of the time super strong.

@totaldonk I don't know my 3bet from there, I play anon tables and don't do a lot of 3betting yet, especially 3bet bluffing.

Interesting differences of opinion on this, I'll let it ride and maybe get more.

Thank you so far guys. Smile

As Turlock said, heads up I'd have gone for x/c loine on the flop vs this guy, but fine to lead multiway.

Turn I'd have gone for a x/c usually I think. Do you have any past stats/reads on this guy's postflop play... does he like to rep a lot?

I might go for x/c on river too if no spade.

I think SB vs BTN is awkward with guys like this. AKo I love to go for a raise war pre and GII, but were you expecting a lot of 4bet bluffs from this guy? Is that why you decided to play the flat call pre? I think people like us don't like to go for a shove PF with AQ, but effectively we're just taking the free money he has to offer by being too aggro preflop and if he calls then we can often do well and have at least some equity. But then I think it feels to gambly for a lot of us in the trenches.
