5NL - AK (3B pot)

Posted 8 years ago

Anon. 3Bet pot here. I didn't think this was a good flop to cbet here, I figure his 3bet calling range will have a lot of mid-pairs, Tx (JT-AT), SC's like 98, T9. Am I thinking correctly here or should we be firing this? I figure these are flopzilla study session all by themselves...

I wouldnt 3bet AK from sb v mp, every time we get 4bet im just hating the hand, so probably would just call against mp.

This is perfect play we basically have nothing that works for us

*overs might not be live
*flop hits villains range
*no backdoor flush draw

Giving up here is completely acceptable and WP

Usually fine to 3bet for value from SB against such a small open-raise.

We basically just completely miss the flop and should have other better hands with which we can continue. I would check fold also.

I think you played this fine. I use tofeel I was loosing too much check folding AK OOP so I'd often bet here and consider firing multiple streets. However that was even more unprofitable. We should be firing on boards that aren't as connected or where we have backdoors.
