Part Poker $215 - TJ line check?

Posted 7 years ago

An hour into the tourny, I have an aggressive image but I am one of the big stacks at the table so that's sort of to be expected, I have shown down one river check raise bluff previously.

Flop is standard IMO, the turn makes for a very dynamic board where villain can be continuing with both strong 2 pair + type hands and flush / combo draws.

I felt like this turn was a good opportunity to start applying pressure on his range, we can credibly rep KT and some 2 pairs AQ AJ JQ here and If we get flatted we can assume villain is weighted towards a 1 pair hand like AK AT as well as but less likely AQ AJ that decides not to play back and the draws we previously mentioned, maybe some nutted KT combos.

The river is pretty interesting, we now likely don't VB our AJ, that can fall into our c/c range but we can still VB AQ JQ KT, I opted for a 1/3 sizing to look as strong as possible and to target his 1 pair AK AT, also because I think we give up with mist of our bluffs here that bricked.

WUG think?

Turn is a check fold, you really rep so little when you are bluffing in most of what I have seen you post so far.

River is not a good card for you to bluff either...

Check fold turn on this board with double flush is way too weak IMO.

We rep 16 combos of KT and some AQ JQ for sure, what other bluffs can we have here other than TJ with this line?

Again also taking other factors into consideration, I can apply a lot of pressure with my stack, the fact that turn only gets called leads me to believe villain is likely buying what I'm selling and is weighted towards 1 pair hands or draws. Not discounting that he can infact have AQ that plays this way.

Spoiler - he tank called AK.

I just feel here you give people way to much credit and also a lot of what you rep villain will block with their value hands.

Give people too much credit in what sense?

I agree that his value range can block mine and vice versa, we don't block any flush draws with this combo though, therefore IMO making this likely pretty close from a GTO perspective. I also knew the river was bad for me to continue bluffing but the 1/3 pot sizing makes sense for our range and doesn't need to work often for us to b/e.
