How should we go about playing SB preflop with these kind of hands when we are deep? Are you flatting, folding or 3beting pre? Where do we draw the line?

Flop. What do you think about lead here? the flop doesnt really hit anyone but BB really good. Would you take another line?

Turn after getting called by everyone whats your play?

Im happy with my river play Smile but would you size differently? we have 658 left with 584 in the pot.

I think I would prefer a turn check jam here over a call. In terms of having this as part of a donking range I would prefer to have more outs than just the king high flush and backdoor spades with some 8x turns helping too. By donking this into 3 you should be repping a lot of strength and a turn check makes it look like a draw till you check jam and again rep a lot of strength. It is unlikely people have sets anywhere in this spot.

For how these hands play out of the small blind they have a lot of non-nut / dominated draw components. I *think* (uncertain) this adds to the merit of a 3b pre for this hand. It creates a lower spr postflop though we are already deep, it "cleans up" our outs by folding out hands that are playing for nut flushes etc (Ah5h3s6c / Ks4sJxTx in BB) and lets us profitably stack off lighter on boards as wide as having a pair + gutter + 2 backdoor flushdraws, as well as reducing the leverage and stack pressure opponents can apply through us being out of position. We can also take it down on a lot of boards where no one connects which we cant always do if we just call and don't connect in some way ourselves. If we stack a deadish hand also the lower SPR makes it less of a mistake.

I jokingly said earlier I think ~ 30% of what I say or think might be BS so feel free to throw that in where appropriate Laugh

Very sick to see big stacks and pots like this and your line is really solid postflop by looks of it.

I think pre flop I would 3 bet just like I would 3bet hands like j9s and kjs in nlhe...does that theory match up?

"I think I would prefer a turn check jam here over a call."
I dont like this at all. Im fairly confident he has 45 exactly here when he bet into 3 ppl.

"In terms of having this as part of a donking range I would prefer to have more outs than just the king high flush and backdoor spades with some 8x turns helping too."
Im thinking a bit different here. If I have more outs we have a good hand for c/c. I think this hand is unplayable if we check since it doesnt have the odds to cc so added into my donking range instead.

Regarding 3bet pre I think it doesnt have to much merit. Since its a UTG open He will have much stronger range than this hand so I dont push any Equity. The merit it has like Josh said it that it fold outs some hands from BB that dominate our FD but I think doesnt weigh up the negatives of 3betting and playing huge pot OOP with a hand with bad nut possabilites.

If it was 100BB just BTN open and we can get it HU and get BB to fold it makes more sence imo.

I have been thinking about this hand quite a bit.

In terms of leading this hand:

Are we leading once and hoping to get 3 folds here?
In terms of donking this what turns are we continuing to lead and into how many players? If we get heads up our options are quite different to if we are called by 2 or 3 players on the flop.
If the turn repeats what are your intentions?
Given the line taken are you also check calling any A456 of spades? Does this change at all if the BB turn bet is called by one or both the other players in the hand?
How do you play to non-spade turns that are K-9?
How do you play to spade turns that are KQT8?
Do we revert to a check call line on any KJ9 turns that are not hearts? If so, how does this change according to which player bets? Ex. Does it change according to whether you close the action on the turn?
Are we check folding all club/diamond A456?
As played are we also donking the river on any repeaters? Are there other cards aside from spades and hearts you lead the river here?
If we are having a flop donking range that includes hands like this, where is the cutoff point or is the Kh the cutoff point and we are not doing this with Qh or Jh?
Are we bet folding, bet calling, bet get it in to a flop raise? Does this change to a bet call call raise, bet call raise fold, bet raise fold fold etc?
If the turn is a heart, do you lead again? Check to call? If we lead flush turns here we are bet going with the hand?
Are we leading with A456ssxx as we have with the K6J9hhss? I guess a point here would be the A456 has clear nut outs on the turn.

Joshk81: I have been thinking about this hand quite a bit.

Yes im really hoping to get folds thats the maint point. Like I said it shouldnt hit anyone perticulary hard.
In terms of donking this what turns are we continuing to lead and into how many players? If we get heads up our options are quite different to if we are called by 2 or 3 players on the flop.
To broad a question. Cant go over every turn but i will continue in HU pots if I dont get raised and the turn doesnt favor the callers range.
If the turn repeats what are your intentions?
What do you mean repeats?
Given the line taken are you also check calling any A456 of spades? Does this change at all if the BB turn bet is called by one or both the other players in the hand?
Yes it changes alot. If the UTG or BTN call i dont think my Kh will be alive very often and we will have to fold. I would call the other spades too vs BB alone
How do you play to non-spade turns that are K-9?
Vs 3 callers im just c/f
How do you play to spade turns that are KQT8?
Big chance i would bet them depending on how many callers from flop and who called.
Do we revert to a check call line on any KJ9 turns that are not hearts? If so, how does this change according to which player bets? Ex. Does it change according to whether you close the action on the turn?
No KJ9 are not very good cards since 1p in a 4way pot will be really weak.
Are we check folding all club/diamond A456?
Yes. Might bluff them if we get called by UTG only.
As played are we also donking the river on any repeaters? Are there other cards aside from spades and hearts you lead the river here?
I think we can donk paired boards too
If we are having a flop donking range that includes hands like this, where is the cutoff point or is the Kh the cutoff point and we are not doing this with Qh or Jh?
This is the absolute worst hand I would do it with
Are we bet folding, bet calling, bet get it in to a flop raise?Does this change to a bet call call raise, bet call raise fold, bet raise fold fold etc?
Very easy b/f vs all action here
If the turn is a heart, do you lead again? Check to call? If we lead flush turns here we are bet going with the hand?
My plan is then to c/c to strenghten my check range. We will have lots of sets so good to have some hands that can cc
Are we leading with A456ssxx as we have with the K6J9hhss? I guess a point here would be the A456 has clear nut outs on the turn.
Yes that hand is great to lead with too.

Wowza that was alot of questions Smile I was hoping to get some help on this hand Smile@redrooski24@Kyyberi? I will answer what I think above in fat.

No idea about PLO400 flop continuation ranges for opponents, but I would like to check how often all 3 opponents fold. If the initial plan is to get three folds, what is the estimated FE there?
To get some idea is it realistic to give flop continuation range of Ahh, 22+, 45:hh, A45+, QQ+:hh, QQ+:45+ there?

Whats the idea behind donking flop? I am little bit confused since we are in SB not BB Smile
Posted 7 years ago
I really don't think out of the SB you should have a leading range on this board at all. Yea, only the BB can really have 2pr+ here but you also credibly rep....nothing.

Your hand looks very face up when you lead here and UTG has a pretty easy path to showdown by calling down with his overpairs whenever the board bricks out. And if UTG or BB are playing tough, they can bluff raise pretty relentlessly vs. this lead and this hand can't continue vs a raise, especially 200bb+ deep.

So flop seems like a pretty clear x/c to me. Once you get to the turn the rest of the hand looks good to me.
Posted 7 years ago
Yeah Kyyberi somehting like that. We obv gonna need to continue on turns since I dont think just the donk will be autoprofit.

@trinity25 I didnt fancy a x/c in a 4way pot with second nut FD. So hard to wo win without hitting and even getting value when we hit.

@redrooski24 Super fine to check ur range so you dont have to worry about balance. But there are value hands ofc that I donk here too. Any xxyy that floped set. Will have some KK72 etc that will need protection.

thanks for your thoughts guys!

I wouldn't donk this flop, 3 folds are too optimistic. The rest is std but I would probably pot the river.
