TT 20nl blind war

Posted 8 years agoEdited 8 years ago

I felt like I butchered this hand but looking back maybe not! Villain has just sat so no stats! I check the turn as I feel like he is completely polarized as he 4 bets anything better than our TT! I think he just folds a 9 if we bet but should bet a nine 100% when we check! Plan was to get him committed then c/r! Good rationale or did I just butcher it?? And I feel like I have to call river as I've under repped and he doesn't rep much??

Snap it off when obvious draws miss

TT is an awkward 3 bet SB vs BTN without any reads, I would just call this as my default.

C bet seems std as played. On the turn I would bet for value assuming that sets raise the flop while there's plenty of overpairs that you could stack off, and KK+ at least should 4 bet pre. So we're really only worried about JJ and QQ, with QQ stacking off pre some times as well.

On the river I'm actually inclined to make a tight fold. Villain with have a floated AQ KQ quite a bit. If he has any showdown value at all, at these stakes he would just want to see a showdown rather than turning something like 65s into a bluff, the same applies to AK. Maybe AJ AT can be bluffing here, but there shouldn't be too many flush draws in his range.

Just betting the turn seem to simplify the hand somewhat. Then you can check the river with villain not expecting a whole lot of fold equity to try and bluff you.

I like to bet the turn again and check call a lot of rivers that missed. Would not give players too my credit for having JJ+ here, can just as well call with KJ Ax and the like pre flop.

River I call and take note. Expecing to see missed draws a lot and Qhxh.

We 3bet walder frey and flop a red wedding.

I would usually fire flop and consider just betting smallish on the turn. Then either super small bet on river or check.

As played, underbet river is good, or check/fold. Bluffing frequency usually won't be high enough at these limits for a x/c even if there are possible busted draws.

Cheers guys! I completely disagree that TT is not a 3 bet from the sb! Gonna get called by a ton of worse hands and TT is very vulnerable and hard to play OOP! You are basically just set mining with not a great chance of getting stacks when you hit as villains range will be super wide!

I def agree Weasel that I should have bet the river smallish! Can't see him raising me with missed draws so it's an easy fold if he raises! Still not sure on the turn...........suppose betting or checking isn't a big mistake either way!

You'll get called by a tone of having but flop a tone of over cards and be playing the hand out of position. A 3b however is perfectly fine but it's not going to much higher EV than calling if any. It depends on how good you are at playing OOP and how aggressive your opponent is.
