I don't have a lot of stats on the villain, he has regish stats over the 100 sample. What do you guys think about the turn raise? What to do on river in this situation and some others? Basically I think the worst possible river came here.

Turn looks a little thin as if they shove over the top, we're behind.

I'd go ahead and flat their c-bet and call on save rivers. Don't want to bloat the pot with so many bad rivers killing our hand.

River is tough and why I dislike the turn raise. At best we're chopping, don't see us ever winning the pot outright. Would be folding as I expect to see flushes and KJ quite often.

As played im folding.
Personal preference here, I would rather cbet this board myself rather than x/calling. Planning to barrel 8,9 and a diamond.
As for x/calling range, would rather do it with Q9-, AT-, JJ... sth like this.

I think I'd prefer my check call range to be hands more like JJ AT strength.

I would go for a c bet myself, you have a ton of turns which improve your equity, and it's not a disaster to get raised off bottom pair on such a flop texture.

The turn is tricky, I'm not as sure as Harvie that it's too thin to go for value. I don't think it's likely you'll get shoved on by a worse hand, and there are plenty of draws, two pair and worse 8x combos that can give you value. Nitpicking I would def make it a bit smaller though.

River is a check fold surely. Calling to hope for a split can't be good

X/c flop is fine. Strength of the pair is less important when we have some type of re-draw. Cbetting would be a fine play also though, as a semi/bluff or protection bet.

Possibly just play x/c turn and x/c river. It's true that the hand is slightly thin to stack.

Probably I would just bet around $1 on river and play bet/fold. After checking it's probably a check/fold given the board is paired, although fine to check/call bluff-catch with straight on unpaired board.
