Interesting hand vs. a reg!

First of all, cbet flop or check / call line ok?

After check / check turn... Villain overbets river?!

Surely Jx wouldn't check turn... JJ/TT/JT wouldn't bet flop most of the time... and if he did, after getting called, he would fire turn too right? (+ he didn't 3bet pre so JJ / TT unlikely) Unless 22/33 got there? Tx would check back river...

At these stakes, should we be just folding and moving on? I think there are some arguments for calling but overbet bluffing is super rare in my experience

Maybe I read into this hand too much haha Would like to know your thoughts!

***He typed in chat "Quads"... Not too sure about online chat tells but maybe one of you pros could pick up something on this Cheeky

His line is o'k with strong hands i think he can raise when you stab the river. Also gives you a chance to complete strait on the river.

His line doesn't make much sense but at the micros I tend to assume these lines are the nuts more often than not.

I'm actually not very fond of the x/c on the flop. Because of your positions, UTG and UTG+1, his range should be quite tight and likely has a ton of suited broadways and mid-high pairs in it which do very well on this board against 99. I'd probably just x/f the flop.

I disagree that villain not 3betting pre means TT/JJ are unlikely, I'd flat QQ there if you seemed a reasonable utg reg type. I also think Jx can chk turn because it's a blank. River maybe doesn't make sense but sometimes it's a bit of frustation because you didn't put any money in but if you call he'll show Jx or Tx a lot, or QQ ofc! Cheeky

I would have chk/folded the flop for similar reasons to Komododragonjesus said.

Villain's line is obv weird.

I would usually check fold this flop with how villain's range looks given our respective positions.

If you have a read that villain bets vs missed c bet a ridic high % of the time then I guess check call can never be too bad. Also if he folds way too often to c bets I would just fire once and be done with it, regardless of what his range looks like.

As played I think he has Jx but now realises you're not trapping and he's decided he wants max value.
