Hey mates,

after my squeeze gets called and I see this kind of flop I don't really know what to do.

While in the hand I thought that it's hard for them to hit this board and the backdoor flushdraw with 2overs was good enough for me to cbet here. That beeing said I'm not sure what type of hands I even want to get folds from, so I guess betting here is not the best option.
So is x/c better here or should I even consider x/f because betting into 2 people shows a lot of strength? If it's HU I don't think x/f is an option on the flop.

As played I was very happy to see the ace and put them on overpairs after they called the flop. I'm not really expecting someone to have a 9 here verry often, so I think shoving turn was fine since the pot was already 10€ and I just had 7€ left.

What are your thoughts?

I think the cbet is fine. I get that you don't really need to cbet AK to get villains to fold out something like QJs since you're ahead anyways but those hands have about 25% equity so having them fold out the flop is a fine result.

On the turn your hand is too strong to fold to the gameplan should be to either bet or check to induce. Since it's 3 way I don't think you'll see enough bluffs from villains so I like the bet.

Well played.

I don't like the cbet, PP are not folding and I feel the cbet is going to be ev- into two players.

As played, the turn is pretty standard given SPR.

What hands will call us on turn? I can think about x/c, but why do we need to shove? Their's no chance we will be called by worse.

Hey,
first of all thanks for your comments.

I like the point of @Komododragonjesus getting hands like QJs to fold now and don't give them a chance to realize EQ is a great result.

While playing the hand the backdoor flushdraw was one of the reasons I decided to Cbet. But as @Harvie said, most of the hands which will call are PP's so a flush will not always be good. That being said, if ever I will hit an A or K chances are good I'll have the best hand if I mostly got called by PP's.

@orkaans I still don't really know if I prefer shoving or x/c here. But given SPR I think it's hard to fold TT-KK here and that's why I shoved. I thought there is a good chance I will be paid off by PP's and taking the pot down on turn is something I would have been perfectly fine with Smile

But that are just my thoughts and I hope I'll get some more input by you guys.

I think paired boards are something I really need to work on. Would you in general say that I should stay away from cbetting a paired board with a flushdraw since I never know if a flush will be good?

It depends on situation (how many opps, position), but no - in general you should keep on cbetting paired boards with 2 overs and backdoor draws.

I see the benefit of betting to fold out QJ etc but I think 3 way there are quite a lot of PPs in villians' ranges that will call and we fold out mostly just hands that we are beating. I would prefer a check call line as we are often ahead but don't have very robust equity (Mostly getting called by better). Also, when it does check through and an A or K comes we have good implied odds vs lots of 2nd best hands.

I think this way we keep villians' ranges weak.

When we pair the turn I think we are happy to allow hands to bluff at us. When we bet we again fold out a lot of PPs we beat as the A is a scare card and the second best hands will bet for us.

Had a long think about this one and I definitely with @Gazjax69 on this one. I think going broke here TPTK is too lose v two villains.

Preflop: My first thought is I'd make it nearer 1.50-1.60 preflop OOP, but depending on my read of the villains (especially MP) and the BB player types I may even flat, but not often of course.

Flop: Chk or cbet is close for me but I'd cbet 30-35%, I don't need any more, I'm not bloating the pot with Ax.
As suggested by @Komododragonjesus , if we cbet and they fold JQ or whatever that's great, we have A-high after all, but when we get called by both villains it's time to slow down imo.

Personally versus two villains I'd probably chk/c flop, chk/c turn and evaluate river with a view to probably calling if villain doesn't get too fruity. Fear not, if you're beat they'll let you know soon enough!

By chk/c turn I disguise the hand strength a bit and often get to catch a bet on the river from a worse ace or even less.

People still tend to play fairly straightforwards in 3bet pots especially multiway, so I'd definitely be slowing down. I certainly wouldn't be going broke TPTK here v two enemies, nothing we beat will call three handed so why do we shove? Bluff? Do we think we'll get snapped off by TT/JJ maybe and an A-high paired board? We can live in hope I suppose but it doesn't happen often, more likely they tank/fold an underpair.

I don't think I'm saying this right but that's my one thought for today anyway.

Some very interesting responses on this hand! They have definitely helped me with similar spots Smile Cheers!

Thanks for all the insight. You really helped me alot and my thoughtprocess in this spots will be diffrent in the future Smile

What I really need to understand is when it's time for me to slowdown and give my opponents more credit...

Looks fine tbh. We hit TPTK on the turn and ship it for value.

A few of you guys are worried nothing worse will call, but usually any Ax float or hand that was originally an overpair on the flop may call if sticky. Anyway, certainly not a big deal to check the turn if you feel strongly that nothing worse will call. Probably committed though with an SPR of 1 on the turn, so money is going in one way or the other.
