I'd be betting turn. QTs gets there but I'd assume QdTd check raises flop so you're looking at 3 combos. On the turned 9r villain will have lots of KQ, KT, QJ, JT and diamond draws you can get value from.

On the river definitely bet for value. After you check back the turn I think you can bet bigger on the river since it's much more likely villain's good Jx will call and you will sometimes get a x/c out of something like Kx if villain is passive.

Agree, checking the turn looks very weak. Nothing wrong with b/f and getting value from the tons of draws that are out already. You'll lose a lot of value in the long-run checking turns like that.

On a side note, If a J comes on the turn here, do we bet? Always a spot I'm unsure of

If the turn comes Jx then you can likely only go for 2 streets of value max throughout the hand. So either bet bet check or bet check bet, and on some rivers (diamond, Qx) you might have to just bet check check if you checked back the turn.

With a hand as strong as AK I'd tend to go bet bet check since I don't think players bluffraise the turn enough and it makes for a fairly straightforward way to play the hand. There are definitely enough Kx and draws in his range for it to still be profitable. With any weaker hand I'd likely check back the turn. A hand like KQ has significantly less equity than AK in such a spot.
