Run out saved me a few BB's here. Pre standard and flop standard for me. I supose could check flop IP but had value so I bet it. Check raise gives me pause from a reg player who rarely gets out of line. Make a somewhat loose call I think and not many draws he can have so its either set or air. Check back turn so as not to burn value vs sets and maybe get a small bet on the river from trash. A means a lot of his air just got there so easy check back.

I guess he was checking to check raise on the spade draw turn and the A river hoping I hit something!

I think and I would have folded on such a dry flop. At best I'm probably up against AQ and at worst a set.

It is possible that some regs do this with an underpair as a sort of 'information' spew (sorry, information raise) but I have no idea why they do it or if that is common enough on zoom to warrant a call.

I'd save my money, fold and move in at zoom.

Folding flop is possible if you know much about his flop raise frequencies. It's worrying that he's doing this versus an UTG opener as well.

On the turn making a small underbet around 70c to try and get a cheap showdown and protect against a river bluff is possible. If he fires big on the river were you intending on making the call?

Interesting spot. On one hand, if you're folding KQ on the flop then you're probably folding anything that isn't a set and that leaves you folding an insane % of the time. Then again if villain doesn't bluffraise then that will be correct. Vs a standard looking reg I might just fold it. I don't really understand the rest of his line and you got away very cheap here.

So that wasn't really interesting but here's the part that is.
Step 1: take a note.
Step 2: Anytime this villain check/calls flop under similar circumstances, barrel the hell out of him. Anything with blockers to good TP will likely make for a better bluff than any other line. AJ has showdown value? Nope, it has blockers to AQ and QJ so triple barrel it. Have anything better than TP good kicker that you might want to pot control against some players? Nope! Barrel away since on a majority of runouts villain won't have better than TPGK as well. Not having sets (or overpairs or 2-pairs on this board) is insanely bad for his range.

I saw villains check/raising such a dry and safe flop with medium pocket pairs (88, 99) or with a gutshot and backdoor flush (56s.), but usually you see this line on a more loose/aggressive player. A nitty (22/17) player will usually check/call with 99 and fold preflop 56s

In this situation I would bet again turn for about 50-55% of the pot. If I get check/raise again - snap fold. After beting the turn river will be usually check/check.

I am not a big fan of underbeting turn. I am afraid I might induce a check/raise from worst hands...
