So wanted people's thoughts on this hand. I chose not to raise flop as it was a weaker draw but not sure maybe raising would have been ok. Kind of seems like his range is pretty polarized by the river and I opted to call the turn when I paired with the flush draw. I bink 2 pair on the river and was considering raising but thought it might be a spot where I only fold out the bluffs and get called by stuff that beats me. Like any over pairs he might be doing this with. The result worked out. I have no stats as its anon, but this guy was quite aggro and had 4 bet me pre a couple times already so I opted to play it a bit more passive. Worked out but more concerned with the overall play not the results

Well played.
Not much reason to x/r flop really.
Turn is a std x/c.
River is usually a fold if we dont improve; Snap call when he bets 3.75 into 5.75.
However if he bombs the river, for say 5 into 5.75 we prob folding.

Yeh good line throughout we do not need to turn our hand into a bluff nor are we in a good spot to go for value as the board is paired.

I would be tempted to lead the flop to fold out other overcards which beat us.

As played flop call and turn call are fine.

River is tough because we beat nothing that bets 3 streets for value even binking top pair. Villain c bet into two players which indicates he had some equity at least, but 54s and the flush draw both miss.

Against a complete unknown I think I would fold, but as you've already observed aggro behavior I think calling is now good. A close spot again I'd say.

Sometimes, if they're determined to be table captain, I just let them get on with it. I think this was fine and a snap/call river for me versus this particular type.
