Overall how did I play this?

X called the flop to pot control and I think this gives you more info on villains hand than betting. When he x back I feel i have the best hand most of the time as he bets most 2pairs, sets, and straights.

Decided to bet river as he checks back all single pair hands but may call a small bet. When he raises me I'm putting him on a flush 90% of the time. So think the fold is fine
