J9o NL16

This is not Nl50 as it may seem because of different currency.

Villian is playing 59/0/0 in 103 hands.
Fold to cbet by street 28/9/25
Postflop agg% only 8 buttt flop agg% is 3, turn agg% is 2, river agg% is 25

BTN $83.27 (166.5 bb)
SB $135.14 (270.3 bb)
BB Hero $94.75 (189.5 bb)
CO $55.58 (111.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J9
2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to $2, SB calls $1.50

Flop: ($4) 89J(2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.53, SB calls $2.53

Turn: ($9.06) 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6, SB calls $6

River: ($21.06) 2 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $13.50, SB raises to $77, Hero folds

So we are almost 200bb deep but what is he repping here? He is so passive on flop/turn so I guess he could play TQ/88 this way, nothing else really makes sense...

Would just snap this off. Villain is repping a set or straight which for most of the part we block.

Firstly. May i ask why the 13x raise preflop at 16nl with J,9o? Seems a little to big to me. However, for present purposes i will try not to talk about the Preflop nuisances.

Flop: I don't think really like having much of a betting range at all on this flop.. But 2 pair should suffice for value since we probably have 50% or more equity against our opponents calling range.

Turn: Definitely betting again. We don't block any of our opponents draws so i would think this is his most likely holding here along with pairs plus draws.

River: This is a brutal spot honestly. Given we are 189bb deep effective i probably check this one behind as nitty as it sounds. However, i cant really fault you for betting as 2 pair is a strong value hand here. Given my turn assumption i cant see us being called by much worse and we also have the potential to have the action reopen like it has. As played though. I honestly don't know what you should do here.

On one hand, we don't block any draws here so there is a chance our opponent is making a good spazz with a hand Q,10, J,10. On the other hand, i don't think this is top of our range and people bluff this spot like ever so we probably should fold. I mean, we can still have 99s,88s, Q,10, which is quiet a few combos so its really close. Taking into account all this information i think its a fold for these reasons. 1. This is not the very top of our range. 2. People at 16nl although there not terrible players, they are far from superstars so i seriously doubt many players at this stake have the capacity to bluff like this. 3. Since its such a huge raise even if the player is astute enough to bluff this spot i don't think its anywhere near the required threshold where we must call. So at best, the call would be neutral Ev.

Well played. I like the flop and turn play, I also like value betting the river since thin vbets are pretty much the way to go when it comes to beating micros and since that was a thin vbet I think that you can fold vs. raise with no regrets. I don't think you're going to get bluffed here very often and I don't think most villains will ever raise worse here so well played.
