Archinator: TheVoice: Hi guys,
This is a golden opportunity to make a cold 4b bluff with some of our suited broadways like QKs, QJs maybe even hands like A2-A5s.
I do not have a coldcallig range here, not sure if it's a problem? I mean, playing these spots postflop can be quite tricky and we are dominated so often that coldcalling just doesn't make sense to me.
Not a big leak, you need someone who is folding enough to make it profitable but generally yes you should have a 4bet bluff here. Problem with using KQ however is if it's EV to flat then we shouldn't be using it to bluff as we have so many good 4bet bluffs in our range
Thanks for your reply, Archinator.
The main reason for me not having a cold calling range in this spot is basically the following:
if I were BU and saw BB coldcalling SB's 3b then...
1. I would flat with a pretty wide range of hands that have good implied odds
2. I would start 4betting aggressively to capitalise on the extra amount of money in the pot
So I imagine if BU is competent then BB will find himself in an extremely tough spot after routinely coldcalling SB's 3b with hands like KQ.
Might be a cop-out but this is basically the reason why I never coldcall SB's 3B in the BB. Not sure if it's okay tho...
