Anything else to do here? Defend for that price but guess I could 3bet but he was barrel happy so felt OK with that.
Flop I'm not scared of any turns so I'll call. Turn OOP I don't want to miss a street so get a raise in now. River betting for pure value. Not overbetting or going bigger as only FH and better 8x would call then.

Asides from pre flop where I may fold as the BB is a short stacker and may squeeze here.

Post flop you played it fine, love the turn raise, let's build a pot.

As mentioned by harvie, the BB looks like a short stacker and by those numbers a sensible on, so for me this would be a fold preflop for me to, I wouldn't feel good about 3betting and getting shoved on by the BB holding 87. Smile

Apart from that I may have chk/r the flop 3X and gone from there.

Pre is debateable, I think I'd rather play my suited connectors OOP with the initiative so I'd prefer to either 3bet or fold, leaning to a fold here because of the short stack BB. I really like our postflop line, except for I would jam river. If he calls our raise on the turn he doesn't seem to unhappy to be putting money in, and I strongly believe we have the best hand here a majority of the time. I think we can just go for max value by jamming here to get calls from a lot of worse hands Smile

Do you have any info on villain's Fold to 3bet?

I'm with Rig on the prefer to raise or fold, however the stack behind is the issue.
Seems well played, I wouldn't say the call is horrible pre. I think it's just not the best seat with agg reg on right and shortie on left.
Ties our hands a little bit.

I have no problem with flatting pre vs a minraise. Can be a fold if its a 3x open by btn.

I agree with floatingice, we are paying 1.5BB for a pretty good chance to see a flop with a decent hand, it is not a bad play on 10NL it might be somewhere where players attack with squeezes more. Postflop is wp, I prefer the x/r on the turn even though it puts us in a weird spot if he checks back.

So much debate on preflop! I'll chime in and say that flatting for that price should be +EV but it's potentially not the highest EV play depending on how villain plays.

Postflop looks fine. Against some tougher players I would consider taking a hand like this and just going x/c x/c x/c. Otherwise you're basically folding 100% to a triple barrel and most villains will have 86 87 98 T8 J8 Q8 K8 A8 and full houses so you run into better fairly often.

Thanks all. He has A8 so was surprised not to see him be more aggressive on turn or river.

Preflop is really close (and close spots tend to inspire debates) and you could go either way though I'd advise folding at this limit.

As for post flop you played the hand well and you've run into the top of villain's range. Onto the next one!
