So I opted to flat this IP against a TAGish player who opens about 13% from UTG(19/17 over all). I decided to float the flop with 2 overs and backdoors, which I think is ok. Villain is 88% CBF. I also opted to call turn which is why this hand is here. I think most people will tell me it is not good to flat here. I know in a lot of cases if you have suited NFD, that raising or shoving is better. So I was just wondering if the scenario is any different when you have a 3 flush on the board and a UTG opener with a fairly tight perceived range. This guys has an overall Af of like 11.5, so it looks like he barrels pretty much all the time, but his CBT is at around 50%, so when he cbets this turn I think he might actually have something. Thoughts?

All looks ok to me dude. I'm never 3beting AK vs this guy UTG (or almost any guy in fairness). I may fold the flop because I overfold but I reckon its OK here. I would not be so worried about how high his cbet is when he is opening so tight he probably has it a lot more.

As played I would just call the turn IP I think and try and realise my equity. We've got the nut unpaired hand and he's not doubling and folding that much I don't think.

Easy fold on the river obvs.

Hmmm, this flop is the sort I think that we look for reasons to call. But I really think we're good with runner runner or just a king a lot of the time vs UTG.
If he has a hand like AQ then the A isn't always a happy card for us.
We know we're likely to face action on the turn, and if we do river the NF then do we get value? Not really. I think VS tighter regs we need to tighten up because they won't give us value with our backdoor to NF.
On the turn it's tough now because we're in a chasing situation. And if we hit then the guy often checks and doesn't pay us of, and we might have to bet small to get a call, which means a T is better for us than the spade.

This is a good hand because I just think it makes us look twice at what we expect from future streets.
I'm not saying you played it badly, I just think vs this guy you just won't end up that profitable here.

Shove turn?

Pre is good versus a tight raiser UTG.

The float looks ok with overcards if he's c betting so much. If he checks we have an opportunity to double barrel to get him off a decent chunk of his range.

Turn call with 12 outs is fine with possibly a river bluff coming if he gives up.

I think you played the hand totally fine. It's obviously not the best spot in the world when UTG opener cbets this texture, but given his sizing, backdoors and the fact that he should be keen on barreling your outs I'd say it's a pretty easy float.

Same goes for the turn, far from a perfect spot, but easy to justify float.

River plays itself.
