NL20 AKs 3b pot vs turn raise

Posted 7 years ago

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've played some somewhat serious poker, so some things feel it bit rusty. A check-up please.
Villain in this hand is playing 30/21 over 338 hands. Folds to 3bet 47% and has an AF of 3.8. He cbets 92% himself, so clearly has some leaks. Do we always go broke here? When he raises the turn so big he has zero fold equity on the river, but there are not that many draws either. Just get it in here? It just feels like AJ so much or maaaaaybe KQcc.

I'm folding, I'm expecting every Ax hand to call along that isn't two pair, same with draws. Their turn raise in my eyes is two pair or better and then some random bluff (10-15%).

KQcc is calling here, by raising they never get worse to call.

I would get it in here, hopefully not getting broke every time Laugh His AF is insanely high. One thing to take away from him cbeting to much is that he is more prone to think you are too. There is many draws he can shove and we are very high up in our range when 3betting BB vs BTN.

I can agree with you here. Maybe if the board was more drawy a shove would be better vs his raise...
However, when you say he is calling KQcc because 'worse hands never call his raise', he can still raise to make me fold better hands and not get bluffed of his hand OTR by a worse FD?

Can't see KQ doing this tbh but you never know, players do weird shizzle. This looks like pure value - 2pair+. Just out of interest, whats his WWSF?

His WWSF would be an interesting information. I feel like this is super player dependant and while I might be inclined to fold here by default this guy looks like a candidate for getting it in.

His WWSF is 55. Could you give me some insight in what this would mean and how this could be relevant here?

It's not very relevant because I just realized you only had 400 hands on the guy and showdown stats need much more than that to be representative. However, 400 hand sample size is enough to tell you "something" about his tendencies. As for the WWSF, this stat basically tells you how hard and how often someone fights for the pots so in this spot it might tell you how likely the villain is to raise the turn as a bluff. 55% is a lot btw so that's another reason why vs. this particular guy I'd probably go broke.
