I put on my cape / sheriff badge and called the river bet. It was big but I did not see any 68xx J8xx in his range given the turn check back.

Maybe 55 here is the bottom of his betting range and I should just be check folding to the 75% pot bet. Again though given the flop and turn check backs even hands like 99xx 77xx TTxx QQxx should not be check checking flop and turn.

Thoughts on the river call? wp btn betting 55xx

It's a really nice flop for hero, and at the very least we should be leading out on the turn, so much missed value as well as protection.

As played, calling is OK, it's not a big pot and it's an odd line with him checking it down

when he checks back OTT he shouldnt be having any J8 or KJ and u have blocker for 86. So its pretty easy call imo. I even think if you raise here you can expect him to fold like 90%. But obviously with top 2 pair that makes no sense since are hand is little bit to strong to turn it into a bluff so just calling is perfectly fine
