Matt "mjw006" Wakeman is an Australian poker professional. Starting out in 2006 he eventually became full time player in January 2006, becoming a winning regular in the $200-500 Heads Up SnG’s. He became friends with many of the world’s best heads up SnG players, including Spamz0r, PrimordialAA, h2olga, and Hokiegreg, citing these relationships as the cornerstone to his advance in to the poker elite and current success.

In early 2011 Matt began to incorporate MTT’s in to his schedule and has since never looked back.

He currently grinds mid-high-stakes MTT's and has some notable results with final tables in the Sunday Warmup on Pokerstars ($21k), Sunday 500 on Pokerstars, and the Partypoker $250k gtd ($30k). He has booked a weekly TLB win on Pokerstars, and overall has recorded over $550k in cashes since his move to MTT's 7 months ago. According to Pocket Fives ranking system, he is currently ranked 43rd worldwide and is the 4th highest ranked MTT'er in Australia.
