The live poker tournament schedule for 2021 is already starting to take shape. We have partypoker stacking up events, along with the World Poker Tour announcing several of their own.

There is a World Series of Poker Main Event underway right now, with a live finale planned. This should give us serious hope that summer 2021 will see the usual pilgrimage to Las Vegas without any restrictions.

2020 turned out to be a great year for the online gambling industry. Traffic figures for both online casinos and poker hit major heights. Online poker hasn’t been so popular for around five years, and casinos are breaking records every week it seems.

A look at this outstanding guide to new online casinos shows why they will be a potential threat to steal customers from the poker industry in 2021.

Poker is expected to continue its great performance next year though. Players, both old and new, will be itching to get back on the live scene.

But who will the stars of next year be?

Our picks for a standout year in the live tournament scene won’t surprise many readers. Their performances have continued to rise from an already lofty viewpoint over the last few years, and things shouldn't be that different in 2021.

Stephen Chidwick

The Englishman is considered by many of his peers to be the best tournament player on the planet right now. This makes him an obvious pick but he still appears to be getting better, which is frightening for his rivals.

The 31-year-old previously told how he finds the various rankings a major motivating factor in his career. This is no surprise given the $23 million he earned in 2018 and 2019.

Chidwick now sits in sixth place on the all-time winners list, but he is the man on the move. The main two rivals he has at the sharp end recently are Bryn Kenney and Justin Bonomo in the top two spots. It is unlikely that he overtakes them in 2021 but a good run could put him in contention for the top spot in 2022.

Kristen Bicknell

There is no doubt that Kristen Bicknell is the hottest property in the women’s game right now. Not since Vanessa Selbst at her best have we seen one of the girls rampaging through fields showing the guys how it is done.

The 33-year-old Canadian has three WSOP gold bracelets to her name, including one from this year, and over $5 million worth of live cashes, plus much more from online.

Two reasons for expecting another great year for Bicknell in 2021 are her relationship with $17 million winner Alex Foxen and her clear work ethic that led to multiple years of Supernova Elite status.

2021 Will Be a Blinder

There’s no two ways about it, the poker and casino industries will have a great 2021. Check out newcasinosonline.uk to see how well the casino sector in the UK looks to be doing lately.

It’s going to take a while for the world to return to normal but poker players and gambling fans in general have already shown how keen they are to play their favourite games. The mainstream media are reporting studies that show which industries will be flourishing in 2021 and it’s clear that we are going to be doing very well indeed.
