how much did you play? If it's just one or two sessions than could just be variance. Of all sites I find stars regs to be the most ABC taking standard lines over all other sites.

I played like 3k hands I wasn't judging it on win rate though just the number of short-stacks, limpers and bad opening/calling or poor post-flop plays

I would say it is softer than before from what I have seen. Of course a lot of the regs have moved places now due to the rake and rewards changes.

Zoom seems much softer than the old regular games were as well.

It is probably like most sites...very hit and miss but worth keeping an eye on for sure.
