Range Charts / Defending Charts from blinds

Posted 8 years ago

Hi guys. Working really hard to try and improve my game. Have identified my opening ranges previously as something to work on, a 6max opening chart (6max cash is my game) from PokerVip has helped.

However, I have two questions:
1) Is there a chart for defending from the blinds vs opens, particularly from late position
2) Are there any useful programs to use for either opening ranges, or defending ranges?

Thanks

Got a few I picked up somewhere, you don't have to follow exactly but may be a good basis to have a look over.
Tweak them yourself, ask others etc. But here's some charts to start off.

VS BTN 2x raise

VS BTN 2.5x raise

VS BTN 3x raise

3bet Ranges from blinds

VS UTG

VS SB (can bet 3bet some of the weaker range)

@Grocker6 Thanks mate, I have a general idea but what do the colours specifically connote? Assume that in initial SB / BB vs BU it is blue = call, red = fold and pink = 3b?

In calling ranges, what do colours there represent?

Thanks mate.

No worries.

Top three = light red - 3bet value, blue - call, dark red - 3bet bluff (white fold)

3bet from blinds = orange - 3bet bluff, yellow - value 3bet. (note that it doesn't mean you fold all the rest of the hands, this chart is just for 3bets)

In the rest (call ranges), yellow is CALL range (the rest is just background colour of the chart of the program that was used)

Again most things should be covered here from blind defense basics Smile

These charts here will be an okay starting point, but what sticks out most to me is the lack of a range which plays fine as a call or 3 bet. It's really important not to allow yourself to become too rigid preflop.

As I was saying, things like that can be become something you can introduce more of over time, but nice to just get a good starting point to work all that off. Keep it simple, get it nailed and then feel free to go further.
