Hi @Mrkrlf

Welcome to PokerVIP! Glad to have you on board. Party

I can't really offer you any advice on this as I have never played live myself! But I am interested to see the advice given here as its something I would like to get out and do at some point. Good luck! Smile

Hi Mrkrlf

I wrote a basic advice article aimed at first time live players for our sister website here

If you're going to play a MTT just make sure you choose a sensible buy in that you can afford to write off as a learning experience, and make sure that you enjoy yourself.

If cash is your thing, then try your best not to fall asleep playing 20 hands per hour! Things will seem so slow that your thought process should be more accurate, and less rushed than when playing online. Nothing to worry about there at all.

Yo and welcome!

TBH one thing to mainly remember is lots of other players there will also be nervous and it will also be their first time. However yes there will be some seasoned grinders there who are at their calmest whilst at the table.

Do not let this put you off just basically sit down, play some poker and enjoy it! Like anything the more you do it the more it will feel natural.

The main thing is to just follow the action....keep your eyes peeled, listen for the bet sizings and just be ready to act. Nothing worse than someone always forgetting its on them!

Also maybe have a stiff drink Smile

Check the internets--depending on where you live, you can find low-stakes games on meetup.com or whatever is used in your area. This way you get a feel for handling cards, chips, paying attention to the action, counting the pot, etc.
