Live Poker in Las Vegas

Posted 8 years ago

Hello everyone.

I am going to Vegas for the first time in my life next week.
I´m gonna play some cashgames live for the first time in a casino.
And I wanna know what the main differences are. I usually play NL25-zoom at Pokerstars
Can you give me any advice on how to play?

What stakes do you plan to play there?

Probably $1/$2.

Ok well

It is going to be softer for sure, people will make terrible mistakes, most won't have correct opening ranges and it will just be super easy to spot good and bad players.

Don't ever think "this should not be in his range" because tourists don't give a shit about any of that and can show up with anything at all. They fold less and pay off more.

Enjoy Smile

Yep basically if you are a winner at 25nl Zoom...................sit back play solid and enjoy a free trip Smile

Bet until you're raised. I know that sounds so bad and simplistic, but more often than not, it gets you paid.

How did you get on? I play in Vegas, all different stakes depending on the time and day, but tourists are very easy to beat! They enjoy the free drinks and experience more than making money!

Hi PokerNut.

I had a great time in Vegas and played poker maybe 4 hours every day.
And you are right, the games were vey soft.
I am used to play NL25-zoom poker at Pokerstars and it was such a difference.

I played mostly NL200 in Vegas and won totally maybe 1200 $ I think. So it covered the cost for the Skyline suite the whole week.
I also had most of the money back from British airways because it was a long delay on the way to Vegas.
So the trip to Vegas was almost for free. Nice!! Smile

How many hands do you play in an hour when you play live do you think?
When I play 4 tables zoom. I manage to play around 1000 hands / hour.

Lets say you play 40 hands/ hour when you play live.
40 hands x 4 hours/day = 160 hands/day.
160 hands x 7 days =1120 hands played
$1200 / 1,12 = $107 / 100 hands = 50BB/100 hands. Thats an insane winrate.

I better go back there soon.
